Football Update: Barclays Premier League- http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, Everton and Fulham (Review of the News)
CHELSEA
The Blues boss, Carlo Ancelotti claims his talismanic striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044, will be back to his best in near future. The Ivorian striker of Chelsea has struggled for consistency and fitness this term, but showed glimpses of his talent when he scored against
Tottenham Hotspurs to earn his team a single point.
Carlo Ancelotti said:"We need Drogba to come back to the performances he had last year and the goal against Tottenham was very good for his attitude. I understand he has not been in a good condition. I put him in the last few games even though he was
not 100 per cent because we need to have his character and his personality. Now his condition is better. He had a good reaction after coming on as a substitute in the last game, this is the important thing and following the goal against Tottenham he will show
us a different Drogba in the next game."
Chelsea are currently placed fifth in the Barclays Premier League standings with 35 points under their belt out of 20 league games. The Blues drew their last match against Aston Villa at home, which was also their second draw at Stamford Bridge. However,
Carlo Ancelotti and his men will play their next match away against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night.
EVERTON
The Toffees boss has insisted that he has left door open for his in-form midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Pienaar-c34208, to commit his future to Everton. It has been feared by David Moyes that his midfielder could depart from Goodison Park next summer, as Pienaar’s current
deal is set to expire in six months.
The South African skipper has already spurned one offer but talks regarding a new deal could yet be re-opened. The Toffees boss hopes that proves to be the case as he is reluctant to see his side lose one of their most creative influences.
He said: "I'd like to think we could see if there's room for manoeuvre. I've tried to leave the door open as long as I can. We'd be delighted to keep him."
David Moyes’ men are currently placed 13th in the league standing with 22 points to their credit out of 20 league games.
Everton lost their last match against Stoke City by two goals to nil at Britannia Stadium last Saturday. However, the Toffees will play their next match at Goodison Park against Tottenham Hotspurs.
FULHAM
The young midfielder of Fulham, Matthew Briggs, is expected to return in January after having a successful operation on his calves. The 19-year-old defender went under the knife two weeks ago after the injury forced him out of the actions for some weeks.
Now, Fulham manager hopes that Briggs would be back in contention and said: "We want to get to the bottom of it and seem to understand what is going on. Obviously, he is a young boy and still growing. That's been a factor in it. He should, after 10 days,
be in a position to ramp up his training and then hopefully we will get him back fit and well very soon."
The last year Europa Cup runners-up are currently battling relegation zone in Barclays Premier League. The Craven Cottage outfit are placed 18th in the standings with 19 points to their name out of 20 league games.
Fulham lost their last Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspurs at White Hart Lane by one goal. However, Mark Hughes’ men will play their next match against West Bromwich Albion at Craven Cottage.
