Football Special Report: Arsenal's Winger Debate: Walcott, Bendtner, Arshavin, Rosicky or Vela. (Part 2)
Continued...
Arshavin is someone who sets high standards for himself and the team, and though he is still useful to the team, he is not playing to his potential, which is why he has been criticised.
Arshavin’s one-two passing with Samir Nasri which resulted in a goal is an indication of his skill and vision to provide killer passes. Arshavin is Arsenal’s huge asset and he can contribute with such killer passes anytime of the day.
Moreover, Arsenal manager has also made it clear that in his view, Arshavin will be a great asset for his team. Arsenal is also trying to keep hold of Arshavin and Arsene Wenger has hinted that he will try to extend Arshavin’s contract beyond 2012.
Without a doubt, Arshavin is not in best form, but still he has contributed a lot in this season. If Arshavin does striker a rich vein of form, then he could be unstoppable, and crucial to Arsenal.
Tomas Rosicky
The Czech international has been one of the most faithful players for Arsenal, and is certainly back to full fitness in this season. Rosicky’s career has been hampered due to various injuries, but his mental strength has helped him overcome his injuries.
The 30-year-old midfielder been in good form in this season and has also skipper Arsenal on various occasions. Rosicky is the senior most player of Gunners squad and his vast experience always proved to be vital for Arsenal.
The Czech midfielder works hard on the pitch, and also possesses exceptional vision and creativity. Rosicky also has good crossing ability, which is useful considering that Arsenal have Marouane Chamakh in the team.
He may have lost a bit of his pace, but he still has the skills required to best his man, and create an impact for the Gunners.
Nicklas Bendtner
The young Danish hit man is a very talented player, who showed in the latter stage of the last campaign that he possesses the quality to make a difference to the Gunners in the future.
The 22-year-old is a centre forward and prefers playing in the heart of attack. But with, new signing Marouane Chamakh and Robin Van Persie ahead of him in the pecking order, he will love to take his chance playing on the wings: If manager decided to use
him there.
He has a lot of skill, and the ceiling of his potential is very high. Bendtner is also a decent finisher and brings with him a lot of confidence, which will undoubtedly install belief in the squad.
After recovering from the injury, which saw him being on the bench since after the world cup, Bendtner has scored twice in two appearances for Arsenal. The huge Dane scored the final goal against Manchester City last weekend while also managing to engrave
his name on the score sheet against Newcastle United during midweek’s Carling Cup match.
However, Nicklas Bendtner will look to improve from here on, and has the faith of his Gaffe, who believes he will be a great striker in the future.
Carlos Vela
Vela possesses a lot of quality, but he has been too inconsistent for Arsenal in the last couple of seasons. Carlos Vela has not had a lot of playing time in this season, and has only started the game against Spurs in the Carling Cup. Vela needs to prove
that he is good enough to start for Arsene Wenger.
Carlos Vela has scored three times so far in this season, and would want to add more to his tally.
The young Mexican international has decent speed, and good crossing ability, which is required for being successful as a winger.
He will struggle to establish himself as a starter considering the competition ahead of him, but at 21, he needs more playing time to fulfil his immense potential.
