Football Special Report: Barcelona – A Perfect Win (Part 2)
The Sevilla manager, Manzano was forced to change his defensive line up during half time as Dabo and Zokora came on for Perotti and Luis Fabiano. The change was simply made to avoid any further damage as a striker was taken off for a defender and Sevilla
were now playing a 4-4-1 formation with Kanoute playing as soul striker for the club as they were a man down.
Unfortunately for Sevilla, their ex player Daniel Alves was very alert as Romaric was heading the ball back towards his goalkeeper during the 52nd minute. As soon as the ball was going towards the goal, it was the Brazilian defender who made no
mistake in running forward to whack it past the goalkeeper to make it three for Barcelona. However, Daniel Alves did not celebrate to show respect for his former club.
After being three goals up as Lionel Messi, David Villa and Daniel Alves all of them were on the score board, there were still 40 minutes left and the Barcelona players wanted to score more goals. Just as the clock reached the hour mark, the Argentinean magician,
Lionel Messi won the ball in the centre of the pitch and made his trademark diagonal run towards the 18 yard box. Right when he reached the edge of the box, he made no mistake and shot the ball into the bottom corner to make it four for the Catalan giants.
Now with Barcelona leading the game with four goals, Josep Pep Guardiola decided to take off his most important midfielder Xavi Hernadnez, as he replaced him with the newly signed Liverpool holding midfielder Javier Mascherano. Pedro Rodriguez was also taken
off as he was to be rested for the game against the Danish Champions FC Copenhagen which is going to take place in midweek. Guardiola showed the world how important his players are to him and he also took his best defender Carles Puyol off as the former Sevilla
defender Adriano replaced him. Adriano was now playing as a left back for the Spanish champions as the French star Eric Abidal took the centre back role.
The Nou Camp crowd was simply loving the atmosphere as Barcelona were leading the game with a four goal margin; however, with the team wanting more and with a massive Mexican wave lapping the stadium, the team decided to score one more to give the fans a
treat. It was Sergio Busquets who made a wonderful run from the right flank and gave the ball to Daniel Alves who touched it back towards the Spaniard. Busquets made no mistake in passing the ball onto Villa who made no mistake in planting the ball into the
bottom corner of the net, as he shot the ball from right outside the 18 yard box. The finish was somewhat like Lionel Messi’s second goal; however, David Villa did not really run the way the Argentinean did.
With Barcelona winning the game against Sevilla, they came to the second spot of the Spanish La Liga as Villareal drew their fixture against Sporting Gijon. However, the win wasn’t the only thing that made the fans happy, it was actually David Villa’s goal
scoring form that the fans saw coming back. With Villa coming back to his old “touch,” there is definitely nothing that is going to stop the Catalan side; however, the Los Blancos were making their impact in the Spanish La Liga as well as Cristiano Ronaldo
scored a brace to help Real Madrid secure three points against Hercules to maintain their status at the top of the table.
