Football Special Report: Can Jose Mourinho Keep His Real Madrid Players Content
Jose Mourinho had the privilege of coaching some of the best players in the world. Mourinho has been a part of Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Porto.
He has vast amount of experience and is fairly good at making difficult decisions for the line up during the game.
Right now Mourinho has undertaken the task of managing Real Madrid. What most people are asking is that, with Real Madrid having so many world class players. Will Mourinho be able to keep up with everyone?
Real Madrid’s new addition is Mesut Oezil coming from Werder Bremen, and this has suddenly increased Real Madrid’s depth ten folds.
Before Oezil, the normal Real Madrid line up was usually 4-3-2-1 or 4-2-3-1 if the team is playing on its full strength.
The ‘1’ in these formations is the player who plays centre forward and ‘The Galactico’s’ have two world class players for this position. One is Gonzalo Higuain from Argentina and the French man Karim Bebezema.
The next in this order could be ‘2’ or the ‘3’ in the formation and this formation just has to include Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo. Then if you add in the Argentinean Angel Di Maria on the left this gives three attacking midfielders, that complete the formation of the tree and this is a very deadly formation. With the right amount of practice and the team’s talented players, this formation becomes nothing less than invincible.
Now what Mourinho has to choose are the remaining two midfielders and here he has a long list of talents to choose from.
Basically, he has five players among whom he has to choose two players for the midfield. The list includes the Argentinean Fernando Gago, the Spanish international Xabi Alonso, the Malian Mahamadoe Diarra, the Frenchman Lassana Diarra and the newly added Sami Khedira.
A major advantage with Real Madrid is that if the team does go with this formation, it still has a long list of players for the backup.
The backups to the trio Kaka, Di Maria and Ronaldo could be Oezil, the Dutchman Rafeal Van der Vaart, Pedro Leon, Esteban Granero or the young Spanish star Sergio Canales.
Real Madrid’s defence is also made up of four players, the trio in the middle and then the single in front. Therefore, even if the team is not able to score and the ball gets into the Madrid’s side of the half, there is still a long and strong line of defence left to stop the ball and give it back to the midfielders.
It includes three world champions these are Alvaro Arbeloa, Sergio Ramos and Raul Albiol, as well as Portuguese Pepe and the Brazilian wing back Marcelo and Portuguese Ricardo Carvalho.
Iker Casillas has been with the club for almost a decade, starting out with Real Madrid and now shining with Real Madrid at his peak.
Casilas is considered to be one of the best goal keepers in the world. He is the captain of the club team and also of the Spanish national team. He is also the World Cup winning goal keeper.
Mourinho has an amazing record, his list of achievements is exceptionally long, 1 Uefa Cup , 1 Portugal cup, 1 Portugal super cup and 1 Champions league. In Chelsea he won 1 FA Cup , 2 Premier League, 1 England Super cup, 2 League Cup and with Inter Milan he won 2 Serie A, 1 super cup ,1 Italian cup and 1 Champions League
One key to win a game is to find a way to keep players from arguing with the lack of time and keeping the formation strong.
Mourinho is going to have his hands full trying to complete this task of positioning his players. Still he says that he is up to the challenge and actually looking forward to it.
