Football Special Report: Chances of Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League – Part 4

Arsenal, generally is not a team that is going to be a flop in the English Premier League or the UEFA Champions League. This is not because they have star players and extraordinary talent, but because of their style of play.
They like to keep the ball to themselves but the major problem comes in with the experience. Whenever they face an experienced team, the young players always come under pressure and always fail to perform at their full.
The best example comes from the match against Manchester United last year. The match was named “Men vs. Boys” as the Red Devils played their best side which included the experienced midfielder Paul Scholes along with Ryan
Giggs and the legendary defender Rio Ferdinand. It was obvious that with players like these, the Red Devils were not to lose and it was Abou Diaby who lacked all that experience in the end whilst heading the ball into his own net while he was under pressure.
Arsenal, undoubtedly has one of the best striking force in the English Premier League at the moment. Even with Robin Van Persie out, Marouane Chamakh takes his position as a centre forward, and the young striker even falls
back to help the team add a player in the midfield to pass the ball around.
Chamakh is definitely a player that the North London side was looking for. If there was one player who had no replacement for the English club, it was Robin Van Persie and this time with Chamakh included in the first team,
they definitely don’t miss Persie because he does what the Dutch star never did. It is true that Van Persie understood the team well and took them along with the slow build up, but Chamakh is the one who believes in holding the ball and then making a run forward
to finish it into the net; something that Van Persie did not believe in and always tried to pass the ball for the easiest of finishes.
With Chamakh totally out of question for being the best replacement for Robin Van Persie, there is definitely no replacement for the “oh-so-amazing” Cesc Fabregas. Many state the fact that Jack Wilshere can replace the Spaniard
but it is definitely not true. He is not even close to the class of the Spaniard and if the former Barcelona man actually makes his “dream move” to his former club, Arsenal are definitely going to miss what he used to do in the central attacking midfield role.
The way Cesc Faberegas makes a move forward to help the team with killer balls and outstanding goals, Jack Wilshere or any other midfielder in the Gunners line-up cannot really accomplish that. The second choice after Fabregas
is Tomas Rosicky, who also does not meet the class of the Spanish midfielder and the whole world saw him miss the important penalty against Sunderland. Later on, Darren Bent was the one who totally tore apart the Arsenal defence to score an equalizer to earn
his team a draw and a point while Arsenal dropped a few more points in the run towards the English Premier League title.
It is obvious that the “Blues,” are the favourites to win the English Premier League this season. This is not only because they got off to a great start but also because of the number of “classy” players that they have in
the squad. They have a suitable replacement for all of the players in the team and even though Didier Drogba is out at times, Salomon Kalou and Nicolas Anelka can easily wipe off any good defence in order to win it for the team.
