Football Special Report: EPL New- Chelsea and Liverpool look for new managers
It was a strange midweek for the Premier league as none of the top sides managed to pick up results. Arsenal and Man City drew 0-0 and Tottenham lost to Everton 2-1.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 campaign got from bad to worse as they were completely outplayed by Blackburn, who were looking to impress their new owners at home, losing 3-1. Liverpool’s situation
looks a far cry from their illustrious history with the reds now twelfth in the league almost twenty points behind United and even more worryingly only four points above the drop zone.
Liverpool faithful have been calling for Hodgon’s sacking for sometime now and the loss to Blackburn could be the final nail in the coffin. They have suffered defeats at the hands Newcastle and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 and rumours have suggested the Anfield hierarchy could
already be looking at replacements.
He had great success with Fulham but he hasn’t delivered at a big club. His signings have failed to make an impact and their performances have been disappointing, but he will argue about transfer kitty available to him. Even, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 looks a shadow
of his previous self. The defeats to smaller clubs have added salt to wounds and this trend can’t be aloud to continue. It will now be interesting to see who Liverpool will look to, to change their fortunes if Hodgson is sacked. They next play Man Utd in FA
cup third round this weekend, hardly a respite for under pressure Roy.
Meanwhile, Chelsea lost out 1-0 to wolves with the only goal of the match being an own goal courtesy Jose Boswinga. Wolves have since climbed out of relegation zone after starting the game bottom of the table.
Since the pre-mature departure of Ray Wilkins, Chelsea performance on the field has declined considerably and Carlo Ancelotti has admitted he is clueless why he is still not being sacked. They are lacking strength in depth and looking a shade of the side
that dominated the league early on the blues title hopes are fading away.
Chelsea are in desperate need of new signings to strengthen their squad which has been seriously hampered by injuries and suspensions. This is the only option available to Carlo Ancelotti to salvage something this season or he might soon find himself in
job market.
Liverpool is likely to miss out on the Champions League spot again this season and Chelsea need to get back to winning ways quickly if they are to retain their place in the lucrative European Cup, they are currently languishing in fifth place on the table.
Manchester City and Tottenham will be looking to capitalize on the turmoil at Anfield and Stamford Bridge and consolidate their position.
