Football Special Report: English Premier League: Looking Back On the Summer Transfers (Part 5)
Article Continued from Part 4.
Marouane Chamakh, Arsenal
Maroune Chamakh is the twenty six year old French player who has quickly become a massive attacking threat, as he joined the Gunners squad at the Emirates after the summer transfer window.
He started his youth career with Nerac in 1988 and then made a move to Bordeaux in 2000 and after another three years, he climbed the ladder to the first team squad
Then spent seven years with that club he finally made a move to Arsenal FC. He gave two hundred and thirty appearances in his former club and then scored fifty six goals.
This twenty six year old has made appearances in all the nine matches that the Gunners have played so far and has scored three goals in the English Premier League and another three in other competitions.
When Robin van Persie got injured in the season this may have been a major concern for the manager and the fans but because of Chamakh’s play this season, the team is still contempt and not worried.
However, as the Dutchman returns after recovering from his injury, Arsene Wenger will have to choose between these players or play them complimentary to each other to make a deadly duo.
Chamakh has gained a lot of support in the Emirates and has become the new favourite of the Arsenal fans. He is an all round player and is very skilled and is never afraid to show case that on the football field.
He has brilliant skills, pace, aerial abilities and is a good support and a finisher. He is on his way to become one of Arsenal’s best players of the season if he keeps his form and plays with consistency.

Rafael Van Der Vaart, Tottenham Hotspurs
This is the twenty seven year old Dutch player that came from Real Madrid in a surprise transfer for a bargain price.
He currently plays for Tottenham Hotspurs and was expected to go to Bayern Munich but when that deal failed, the Spurs manager swopped in and made this terrific deal.
This player has already scored five times in the English Premier League and has made only six appearances so far.
He was signed at a bargain price of only eight million pounds and was believed to be one of the best signings of the summer.
Now as Jermain Defoe is benched because of his injury, Rafael van der Vaart is the main Lily Whites man who is picking up the pace and is leading the team to glory.
He is fitting in fairly well in the English Premier league, the team and the manager Harry Redknapp. He is a major threat on the field and always keeps the opponent team players on their toes so for now this Dutch man is believed to be the best signing of
the summer.
