Football Special Report: English Premier League Players of the Month (Part 1)
The second month of the Premiership is almost over and this has resulted in some amazing individual performances from players that have set the record books.
So here is a list of the five Premiership players that have stood out and deserve praise for their endeavours.
Gareth Bale
This is the Welsh Left and back midfielder from the Lily Whites and he has proven himself worthy to make this list this season. He had an amazing month in August when he scored two goals in the Premiership and he also set up four goals in the Champions league
win that resulted in a four to nil win.
The player is only twenty one years old and plays for the Wales national team. He started his professional football career in 2005 and quickly became a part of the Welsh national team in 2006.
Gareth Bale was not as creative as he was in August but he has continued to perform brilliantly and has surpassed expectations for himself.
The player’s performances have resulted in rumours going around about Real Madrid and Manchester United considering buying him. He is twenty one years old and it is believed that the Red Devils are considering buying him for twenty million Pounds this summer.
Astonishingly Bale does not seem to keen about a move to Old Trafford.
Right now, the move may be dependent on Jose Mourinho, who seems to be thinking of replacing Bale with Marcelo. Though one thing is sure, that if this Welsh player keeps performing this way then it is only a matter of time before the best clubs in the world
will come swooping down to get this player.
Michael Essien
Michael Essien has become a leading midfielder for the Blues and has filled the gap that Frank Lampard left after his injury. Essien has pulled off some amazing performances for Chelsea and scored three goals for the Blues in September.
Michael Essien is twenty seven years old and is a part of the Ghanaian national team; he started his professional career in 1999 and was recruited to Chelsea in 2005.
He scored two goals for the Blues in their match against West Ham United which resulted in a three to one victory.
Michael Essien is a flexible player that seems to adapt to his surroundings and has a very deep energy pool that never seems to run out. This player seems to be everywhere on the field and has become an example that other Chelsea players need to inspire
to.
Carlos Tevez
Carlos Tevez is the Citizens captain and he scored a crucial win against the Blues, ending Chelsea’s winning track record in this year’s English Premier League season.
Carlos Tevez is twenty six years old and has been playing for the Argentinean national team since he was twenty one. He also played a key role in Manchester City’s victory against Wigan which resulted in the match ending with the score boards reading two
to nil.
Carlos Tevez scored one goal against Wigan and created numerous chances for others to take the game forward. This player has given the team five goals over a period of seven matches and only shows signs of getting better.
He also scored an absolute penalty in Chelsea’s match against Newcastle, all these performances have taken Manchester City to the second rank in the Premiership table, and the defending Champions seem to have no intention of letting this title go for at
least another season.
