He has proved that he is good enough to be compared with the likes of Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Michael Owen and is continuing to improve further.
No. 6: Robin Van Persie – Arsenal
There have been a lot of great forwards for the Gunners, both at Highbury before and now at the Emirates. The English Premier League era includes players like Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry and Ian Wright.
This twenty seven year old Dutch player has been very unlucky with injuries as he has a bad record with them even that seems to be a bit expected, as he has quick feet and a slight frame.
If it were not of his injuries, he might have been compared with the likes of the Gunners best. He does have a lot of similarities to Thierry Henry as he joined the Gunners as only a youngster and had a lot of raw talent that he used really well.
Robin Van Persie has made himself into a very lethal finisher and made a mage return on his time and investment. Van Persie has scored forty eight goals from a hundred and thirty four appearances and even this is expected to improve.
Especially as Arsene Wenger has made players like Marouane Chamakh and Cesc Fabregas remain at the Emirates.
These two players are going to make numerous opportunities for Van Persie and this will reflect on his club record and is expected to attain new heights.
No. 5: Nicolas Anelka – Chelsea
At one point in the English Premier League it seemed like that every major club was fighting to get Nicolas Anelka signed to them. He is thirty one years old and plays for Chelsea; he is also a regular starter for the French national team.
He has also been playing at national level since the under twenty team and was made a part of the first team squad for the French in 1998 and has made sixty nine appearances for them and has netted fourteen goals.
Arsene Wenger noticed this talent and brought him in from Paris Saint Germain for a price of only five hundred thousand pounds. He came to join the Gunners ranks in 1997 and after two years, he was sold off to Real Madrid for a two thousand percent profit.
However, to the Anelka fans in the English Premier League’s delight he returned the Premiership to create havoc on the football field. He went to the Reds, Manchester City and the Bolton wanderers to finally end up in Chelsea.
He has formed an extraordinary partnership with Didier Drogba, and come to a total number of a hundred and nineteen goals scored in three hundred and twenty matches played.
All of this ranks him as the twelfth ranked forward of the Premiership in its eighteen year old history.
No. 4: Fernando Torres - Liverpool
This is the twenty six year old Spaniard; he signed from Atletico Madrid to the Reds in 2007 and came as one of the most exciting players to have come to the years in a decade. He came with a price tag of twenty million pounds.
He has an excellent record; he has scored fifty seven goals from eighty six English Premier League appearances. He scored three hat-tricks in his first season playing for Liverpool and became the first player in around sixty years from Liverpool to score
three consecutive hat-tricks.
