Football Special Report: Football’s Best Eleven Midfielders in the World (Part 3)
Andrey Arshavin
Andrey Arshavin ultimately got transferred to the Gunners in the start of 2009 for a transfer fee of fifteen million Euros and is now working his charm at the Emirates.
This player contributed so much in the European endeavour that he was the man of the match in every match except for the one against Spain in the Semi Finals and made ten assists and scored four goals in that tournament.
He has already given some amazing performances for the Gunners and this includes scoring four goals at Anfield, but he does not seem to be one of Arsene Wengers favourite players as he keeps playing him out of position.
This season the player has already scored five goals and given five assists. This comes as unfortunate for Arsenal fans but it is believed by most that Arshavin still has not given his best performances at the Emirates and there are not many hopes of him
giving them in the near future with Arsene Wenger at the head.
The player is still only twenty nine years old and it is thought that he will move on soon so he can earn some titles that he truly deserves.
The player actually told the media once that he wants to play for Barcelona and it is believed the he will be most welcomed at Camp Nou.
Ever Banega
Including Ever Banega is probably the most contentious name in this list but he is a young, talented and upcoming player.
He is twenty two years old Argentinean and plays for Valencia and has been doing so for the last two seasons and has made the Argentinean first team line up under their new coach Sergio Batista.
He started his youth career in 2000, made the jump to professional football in 2007, and joined the Boca Juniors. He also made part of the national team squad in 2007 and now is a regular in the starting line up.
Banega played a brilliant match against the Spanish winners and was called to be the ‘Xavi’ that Lionel Messi never had in the World Cup.
He has what it takes to be one of the best midfielders in the world though it is hard to argue this now but only time will tell how this player matures in the future.
Ricardo Káká
It is true that Kaka has not been the same ever since he left AC Milan but he still ranks to be one of the best midfielders in the world.
He is the twenty eight year old Brazilian legend. He started playing football in 2001 and moved to AC Milan in 2003, where he truly made a name for himself and now currently is a part of Los Blancos.
He is also a part of the Brazilian national team since 2002 and has made eighty two appearances with scoring twenty seven goals.
He is an amazing playmaker, a frightening threat on the football field and now a deadly weapon for Jose Mourinho to use against Barcelona.
Kaka was also the best player of the year in 2007 and he actually led AC Milan to the Champions league win.
Paul Scholes
Paul Scholes is another immensely talented player that is known as a complete midfielder as he is ‘the best’ midfielder of his generation and this comment was made by Zinedine Zidane.
Paul Scholes is a football legend, he is thirty five years old and still playing for the Red Devils, he is not the best midfielder in the world right now but he definitely makes this list.
He has made four hundred and fifty one appearances for the Red Devils and has netted a hundred and two goals. He was also a part of the English national team squad from 1997-2004, made sixty six appearances for his country, and scored fourteen goals.
Paul Scholes has spent his entire career at Old Trafford and Sir Alex Ferguson blindly trusts this player as he never seems to disappoint.
Another major factor with Scholes is that age does not seem to affect him, as he is still a regular and leading midfielder for Manchester United.
