Football Special Report: Lessons Learned from the Gunners VS Citizens Match (Part 4)
Article Continued from Part 3.
The style of play that Arsenal plays with is very frustrating for their opposing team. While Manchester City was playing a man short practically the whole match, so they were constantly being baffled all over the field.
The Citizens were able to hold the Gunners off most of the match but finally the Guns got to them. The team was tired and started falling behind as they could not keep up with Bendtner when he came at the end of the match.
The Gunners needed to find a balance in the game as they spent a lot of time passing the ball around, and not scoring. The Arsenal players needed to get into position quicker and then stay there to make it work to set a goal.
It is believed that if Arsenal can just overcome these few things then there will be nothing left in their path to the English Premier League title, as the team has talent, it has experience, skilled players and coordination.
They have the attackers, the defenders and their goal keeper has been showing great form so they have all the tools in place and only just need to work them at their best to win this honour.
Arsenal Are Tougher
Over the past few years, the Gunners have constantly been considered to be a weak team, also as they have been performing below the level expected of them. The French manager Arsene Wenger fails to make the desperate additions that the team needs.
Arsene Wenger is also to blame as he has been a part of this image building of the Gunners, as he never misses an opportunity to complain about his players and the lack of protection that they have.
Still this season, the team has been making improvements and it is expected that they might as well break their title dry spell and finally win something this season as they are in the running for the top and are in the top four of the English Premier League.
This season also has been very different considering Arsenal’s behaviours on the field, they were never such a physical team but this season their players have got themselves a total number of eighteen yellow cards. Also the Gunners have been sent off the
field thrice and have had to play a man short.
They have been very physical and are leaving nothing out, furthermore they are very adamant on winning the title this year.
The Citizens were the victims of this aggression from the Gunners as the Arsenal showcased some very aggressive team play. Arsenal even got four red cards and Chamakh seems to be a player that has been the cause of many red cards being handed out this season.
As Boyata’s red card also came when he fouled Chamakh. The gunners were charged with ten fouls in this match and that is only just one foul less than the number of fouls that Manchester City made.
