Football Special Report: Lessons Learned from the Gunners VS Citizens Match (Part 5)
 Article Continued from part 4.
Alex Song, the twenty three year old Cameroonian footballer that plays for the Gunners has picked up so many fouls that he is ranked third for the most fouled committed this season in the English Premier league.
The point of this type of game play is that even though it is against the rules and can result in having effects on the player’s career, it is considered by most players as a necessary evil and it has its benefits in the game.
The way to do it properly is to have control over how you do it. Even some red cards are praised as they can come in such crucial moments of the match that they affect the overall result of the fixture or in some cases result in having disastrous aftermaths.
A clear example is from this match when the Citizens player got sent off for being red carded in the starting moments of the match and then the team had to suffer tremendously for it.
Arsenal has more often than not been looked upon as a team that is weak sided physically but now they are working on that and pushing back harder than ever.
The Gunners have develop their reputation with having a more physical side of the game encrypted in them than the other physical teams like the Wolverhampton Wolves and Manchester City.

The Premier League Is More Competitive
Even though the squad only has played nine games so far, they are a long way away from the top, as there are three teams with seventeen points and two more team only a point or two behind and this includes the newly promoted club West Bromwich Albion.
So till now the Gunners have beaten the Citizens who have beaten the Blues, who beat Arsenal in their last fixture then lost to West Bromwich that had a draw with the likes of Manchester United.
The point being raised here is that in a league that usually has only two or three teams fighting for the league title has five contenders this year. These five teams have proved themselves this season and their stats speak for themselves.
Also they took advantage when playing with a team below their calibre and no one forgets that but that this is just a part of the game and the way a competitive sport is played.
Manchester City going up against Arsenal is a perfect example of the competitiveness present in the English Premier League.
Even when the Citizens were a man down, they were able to hold off the Gunners for most of the match in spite of the fact that Arsenal was taking full advantage of this situation and had shifted to high gear.
Manchester City ultimately could not keep up with Arsenal but they did give them a run for their money whenever they tried to score a goal.  Manchester City was also in a position to score and earn a point from the match till they were two down but when
the third goal was scored all hope was lost.
The score line suggests that the game turned out to be a lot easier for the Gunners than expected even considering the conditions of the match.
So the Premier League table is expected to spread out even further as time passes and more games are played. Also the score boards remain fairly tight as no one lets their opponents get an easy point in fear of the sight of seeing their competitor get ahead.
So this year unlike what we are normally used to, we are not going to see just to race horses speeding towards the finish line for the win, rather it’s the top five clubs going together constantly changing position and trying all means of game play to get
ahead.
