Football Special Report: Liverpool Striker “Torres is enduring lack of self confidence” -Hodgson
The sixty three year old boss of the Liverpool football club Roy Hodgson is of the view that the veteran Spanish striker Fernando Torres is suffering from the lack of confidence these days.
It is to be notified that the twenty six year old ace striker has scored just once in ten matches which he has played for the club this season. The current bad scoring form is no doubt very frustrating for Torres as well as for the LFC (Liverpool Football
Club) as well.
The recent disappointing defeat of the Liverpool team from Everton, has given a strong blow to the aims and ambitions of Roy Hodgson as well. The current bad scoring form of some of the key players of the club is not less than chaos.
While expressing his views about Fernando Torres, Roy Hodgson explained that Torres is perfectly fit now. He added that the absence of Torres from the football field has dragged him out of form and he is not mentally fit to perform and suffering from a lack
of confidence. The LFC coach added that Torres has performed well as compared to his performance in the World cup and right now, he needs to score. He added by saying that one of two goals will help him to regain his lost confidence.
Injuries have been a real threat for the Spaniard and his recent adductor muscle is proving to be a bit too much for him. It is to be remembered that Torres had a knee injury in the end of the last year’s season and he endured groin injury during the World
Cup in South Africa in July.
It is also to be noticed that Torres has been playing regularly in the Liverpool squad but he is still struggling to net the ball.
Despite of losing the game from Everton, Hodgson still seemed to be pretty relaxed with the performance of Fernando Torres. According to the sixty three year old, the performance of the Spaniard was satisfactory in the match.
Hodgson said that Torres has worked hard and his performance in the match against Everton shows his dedication and hard work. While talking about the injury of the Torres, Roy said that Torres is physically fit he is training hard to regain his scoring form.
Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta scored one goal each and gave Everton a very well deserving victory against the LFC. The issues of the ownership of the club also created a lot of stress for the players and for the coach of the LFC team as well. Now when the
issue of the ownership is over, the fans of the club from all around the world are waiting to see their favourite team, back on the winning streak.
It is also to be noticed that the disappointing defeat against the Everton has further decreased the rank of the LFC, on the championship standings table. Now the Liverpool football club is second from the bottom on the standings table of English Premier
League. It has won just one match out of its previous eight matches.
Roy Hodgson told the media about the match and said that his team was a little unlucky during the match. He added that the team played pretty well in the first half of the match but failed to score and the goal from the Everton in the first half made a huge
impact over the game.
Hodgson added that in the second half, they battled well and tried their best to restrict the rivals but one has to lose and one has to win and unfortunately, Liverpool was the losing side.
Roy is now hoping high to put the team back on the winning track but it is not less than a challenge for him.
