Football Special Report: Liverpool’s Best Strikers (Part 1)
Things did not run their course as predicted by ‘The Reds’ boss Roy Hodgson, as the manager failed to allure a good forward player to the team to make them complete this season.
Liverpool football club is one of the most well-known football clubs out there and has a very luminous heritage. Throughout the club’s history, they have been renowned strikers in the team that have always been loved by all and respected by their opponents.
Here is a list of the top Liverpool F.C.’s strikers, these players have truly achieved super stardom and from that they add to the most interesting part of the game and that is scoring goals.
El-Nino, Fernando Torres
Fernando Torres was perhaps one of the best signings during the time of Rafael Benitez. Torres holds a goal-scoring record for Liverpool, which cannot be matched by the other strikers in the club, as he has one of the highest goals scored per match’s average in the club’s history.
A record that stands high to this day is Torres’s record for scoring fifty goals with the club in the shortest time span. Torres scored a whopping total of fifty six goals in eighty seven matches, and that makes it an astonishingly high average of 0.634 goals per game.
Fernando made his professional career debut with Atlético Madrid, and slowly made his way through the ranks in their youth system. Torres made his first, first-team debut in 2001 and left the club with having one hundred and seventy four La Liga appearances, and having scored seventy five goals with the club at that time.
Before Torres played in the La Liga, he also went through two seasons in the Segunda Division and made forty appearances there, and scored seven goals in that streak. The player joined the English Premier League in 2007 and joined Liverpool F.C.
Torres came on with a record-setting transfer fee, and marked his first season with the club as the one with having the most goals scored since the time of Robbie Fowler in 1995-96 in which he scored more than twenty goals in the league in that season.
Torres also became the fastest player in Liverpool’s history to score fifty goals, when he scored against Aston Villa in the end of 2009.
In spite of the fact that the player seems to get injured a lot and for long spells of time, he still remains to be one of the most recognized strikers from ‘The Reds’ first team squad.
The Spanish player scored his first goal of the season which gave Liverpool a one to nil victory over West-Brom at Anfield, and this was also the player’s fiftieth goal in all his competitions combined.

Robbie Fowler

Robbie Fowler is considered to be one of Liverpool’s first creative goal-scorers in the Premier League. He started his career with the club with the youth team, after leaving school in 1991 he signed to professional football on his seventeenth birthday on 9th April 1992.
Fowler made his debut with Liverpool’s first team on thirteenth January 1993, and came in as an un-used substitute in the third round of the FA Cup against Bolton Wanderers.
In the following season Fowler played a vital part in the English under eighteen-team, and they won the 1993 European Championship and this made Fowler get his first team debut. Fowler made a scoring team debut in Liverpool’s three to one win in the first round of the League Cup tie at Fulham on twenty second September 1993.
Fowler actually netted all the five goals in the second leg two weeks later at Anfield and this made him the fourth Liverpool player in history to score five senior fixtures. He also made his first League hat-trick in a match against Southampton in his fifth league game.
