Football Special Report: Possible La Liga targets for Premier League clubs
The winter transfer window is now open and several players are currently being linked with a host of clubs.
Bettor.com presents you a list of some players playing their trade in the Spanish La Liga, who could be the next possible targets for English Premier League clubs:
Name: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Trezeguet-c10623
Age: 33 yrs
Club: Hercules
Price Tag: £2m
Possible EPL Destinations: Everton, Birmingham City, Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385
The former Juventus star moved to the newly promoted La Liga side Hercules during the summer of 2010 and has so far scored 8 times in 15 starts this season. Trezeguet has already entered the twilight years of his career and so playing in the Premier League,
before eventually hanging up his boots, might be too tempting a situation to be ignored by the Frenchman.
Although, he has so far been in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 for only 6 months but his agent has now indicated that Trezeguet might prefer a move to some place where there are more important ambitions.
The player himself said last month, "My aim is to show what I can do to move next year to a club with more important ambitions."
Everton could do well with a top class striker at the moment and so could other teams like Blackburn and Birmingham, who appear to have been goal shy this season.
Name: Gabriel Milito
Age: 30 yrs
Club: Barcelona
Price Tag: Loan / £5m
Possible EPL Destinations: West Ham United, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809
He has endured a terrible time ever since his move to Nou Camp in 2007. The player might be injury prone, could lack pace as well as height but his playing style seems near perfect for Premier League.
At the moment, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabriel-Milito-c14321 is out of favour with his boss Pep Guardiola and so he has made his intentions clear that he wants to leave Barcelona. "He wants to play, he's a winner but I want happy people in my team," said Pep Guardiola about Milito.
Liverpool might be the next destination for him as the club is presently looking to spend big on attacking players. A cheap and experienced defensive option could suit Liverpool. Upton Park can be another possible destination as West Ham United are also
looking for experienced players available on cheap. Milito fits the bill for them.
Name: Lassana Diarra
Age: 25
Club: Real Madrid
Price Tag: £10m
Possible EPL Destinations: Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur
A player, who seems well aware of Premier League's requirements, could return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 in the search for regular first team football. He has found it hard to play regularly under his current boss Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, who prefers to instead play
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Xabi-Alonso-c37045.
Diarra will have no shortage of suitors in the EPL, as he has already enjoyed his time in England with Portsmouth. Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are the clubs heavily linked with a move for the Frenchman.
It has been reported that Lassana Diarra has made it clear to his current employers that he would like to make a move elsewhere in order to play regular first team football. Although, Real at present do not want to let go the versatile midfielder, however
they may eventually choose to cash in on him now before his value goes down.
