Football Special Report: Rating Liverpool’s Positions and What They Need To Change (Part 6)
Article Continued from Part 5.
David Ngog is a player that is getting frustrated as he seriously does not know what more to do to make the first team, He has scored seven goals when Torres only has six and all that Ngog is given is twenty minutes in a match as a substitute.
Maybe he and Torres need to be played together and a worthy concoction needs to be brewed for the Reds but one thing is clear that Liverpool needs a new face in their forwards.
A Big time signing is considered to be one of the most crucial things for the forwards of Liverpool; this may just result in Liverpool FC ending this season as a failed club with a disastrous season or just a satisfactory one.
The Verdict:
Therefore, the finishing verdict is that Liverpool desperately needs at least four new players in the January transfer window, if they want to have any chance of making it this season at a reasonable standing.
They need a left back, a central midfielder, an attacking midfielder and a striker. For all of this to happen they also need a sudden influx of money into the club and the new owners have to make ends meet if they want to do something for their new club
as it is up to them to make a difference now.
Changing the manager is still in debate but since the coming of Roy Hodgson, things have only gone downhill.
They need to give young talents like Dani Pachecho more chances, they definitely need to give more time to Ngog and cut players like Babel if they are not rising up to the challenge.
Old players like Fernando Torres need to shape up, while the new additions like Joe Cole need to do a lot better. The team’s midfield needs improvement so someone needs to step up to the challenge.
The club’s full backs need to shape up or their needs to be a new man hired really soon preferably on the left flank and Maxi Rodriguez definitely needs to be cut soon.
The team’s central defences have more than capable players sitting in the box so the players need to work harder and the manager needs to use them better.
Last comes goal keeping which is actually doing a good job as Reina is without a doubt an extraordinary goal keeper but a goalie can’t do anything alone if his defenders are just letting the opposing team’s attacker just pass through.
