Football Special Report: Spanish Liga Preview (Part 3)
The mid table Getafe are very inconsistent this season and they continued this after they drew the game away from home, as they travelled to Portugalete to compete for the Spanish Cup. This “inconsistency” is going to make them go through another tough match
as they are going to face Atletic Bilbao on Sunday.
After facing Atletic Bilbao on Sunday, Getafe are going to face Barcelona the very next week and this is the time for them to take the points that they need as the Catalan giants are going to be hard to defeat or hold down at their home ground, the Nou Camp.
It is true that Barcelona had a poor start at home during the start of the season but now they have picked up their form and they defeated Valencia 2-1 at home and also won the game against the Danish Champions FC Copenhagen during the UEFA Champions League
game.
The Basques have a very poor record against Getafe in their home ground, the San Mames. They have only managed to win just three times at their home ground as both the sides have faced each other six times in the home ground of Getafe. However, Bilbao are
going to be very confident as their Spanish striker Fernando Llorente is very much in form at the moment and he has shown the consistency by scoring six goals during the season. In the case of Atletic Bilbao, they emerged to be victorious with the help of
their goal scoring Spaniard; they are going to be on the same level as Michel’s team, in terms of points.
The other Madrid side, Atletico Madrid are also one of those teams that are right at the edge of the European places in the table and they will be ready to defeat the struggling bottom-of-the-table Spanish side Almeria as Atletico Madrid are going to face
them at their home ground. However, next week Diego Forlan’s side is going to be in a tough derby match against Jose Mourinho’s over impressive Real Madrid, who are currently leading the table and it would be the Los Blancos, who are going to be entertaining
Atletico Madrid at their home ground, the Santiago Bernabeu.
Right at the other end of the table, lying third from the bottom of the table, Racing Santander suffered a loss against the second division team Cordoba. It was Cordoba who emerged victorious during the midweek Spanish Cup game as Racing visited their home
ground and suffered a 2-0 loss from them. This loss came right after last week’s poor performance at Santiago Bernabeu when Racing were defeated 6-1 by Real Madrid at their home ground. Now it is time for Racing Santander to shine as they need to pick up some
pace in the Spanish La Liga and they are the ones who are going to face Osasuna on Sunday.
On the other hand, Malaga are currently on level terms with Racing and they are still without a win in the last four games. Malaga are now going to face Real Sociedad at their home ground and they need to find a win in case they want to avoid the relegation
zone.
