Football Special Report: The Gunners Star Team of the Last Decade (Part 1)
The Gunners is considered to be one of the best clubs in the English Premier League and in spite of the fact that the club is trying to get by with the absence of even a single champions league trophy in their name.
The club has a rich history and has won numerous trophies in the past. The so called invincible club in the English Premier League, Arsenal went on a winning streak that lasted almost two seasons.
The Gunners did not even loose a single match in the 2002 season and went on a successive thirty nine matches winning streak!
The next season the team went ten matches unbeaten and then in the eleventh match they lost to Manchester United. This was also a controversial match and Arsenal fans to this day argue that the penalties given in that match were unfair.
This also resulted in the ‘pizza-gate’ controversy when allegedly, Wenger abused Ruud van Nistelrooy and in response to this Sir Alex Ferguson stepped out to confront the French Manager and then a pizza flew out of Arsenal’s dressing room and hit Ferguson.
Still this record is still set to be broken by any team out there and it gave Arsenal its eternal title as ‘The Invincibles.’
Therefore, here is a list of the all time best eleven players that have blessed their grace at the Emirates in the last decade:

Goalkeeper: David Seaman
This goal keeper is ranked to be the seventh most successful placer to have played in Arsenal; he was also a permanent member of the first English national team.
He was considered to be one of the safest goal keepers in the English Premier League, though the player was also blamed for the loss against Brazil when he let in a free kick from Ronaldinho.
In 2000-03, Seaman was hindered by numerous injuries but still was considered to be one of the best to have come out from the Emirates.
He was later replaced by Jens Lehmann in Arsenal’s unbeaten season.

Left Back: Ashley Cole
Cashley or Ashley Cole is also thought to be one of the best players to have played for the Gunners. He was an essential part of the team and he cemented his spot in the first team in 2000.
The French manager deserves a lot of credit for promoting this young talent from the academy to the Gunners First team. Ashley Cole was also a part of ‘the Invincible’ team and he made a move to Chelsea later on and quit the Gunners though this was resented
by the Arsenal fans but there was nothing they could do about it.
Gael Clichy later on reinstated Ashley Cole’s place as the left back and is one of Arsenal’s longest serving players. Still one thing is quite clear and that is that he has a long way to go before he comes to anywhere near Ashley Cole.

Centre Back: Sol Campbell
Sol Campbell transferred from the Lily Whites to the Gunners, these two clubs are considered to be arch rivals, and this was a very controversial transfer in the English Premier League.
Sol Campbell is thought to be one of the greatest centre backs in the World and in his first run with the Gunners; he was one of the key leading players of the ‘Invincible squad.’
Campbell scored in the match that resulted to be a loss against Barcelona in the Champions League final fixture in 2006.
After this loss, the player moved to Portsmouth in a free transfer deal and then his professional football career took a turn for the worst.
