Football Special Report: The Gunners Star Team of the Last Decade (Part 2)
Centre Back: Sol Campbell
He then joined Notts Country from Portsmouth and then quit that as well. After a couple of games, the player did improve. As Campbell improved his fitness, he was signed back by Arsene Wenger in January.
Campbell did put in some courageous displays of sportsmanship in the matches against Tottenham Hotspurs and was well deserved of an honourable mention in those matches. Then Sol Campbell moved to Newcastle United on a free transfer again.
The player has had a long career and is well appreciated for his performances while playing for Arsenal.

Centre Back: Kolo Toure:
It is a difficult decision to include Kolo Toure in this list as there were other really talented players in the team as well. For example, Thomas Vermaelen and Matrin Keown but the title wins are in favour for Kolo Toure and he has been one of the most
consistent players in the clubs history.
He was also a first choice centre back for the Invincibles squad. He was a very diligent player for Arsenal for almost six years and his input to the team was of considerable importance.
Kolo Toure did not get along with William Gallas and that was one of the major reasons why this player took his leave from Arsenal. Toure was sold to Manchester City for a price tag of fifteen million Euros and was named captain of ‘The Eastlander’s’ in
the 2009-10 season.
However, the player did step down from captainship in the 2010-11 season and Carlos Tevez was named the captain after this move.

Right Back: Bacary Sagna
Including Bacary Sagna is again a difficult decision, as he has to be chosen ahead of Lauren Sagna who was a very consistent player for the Gunners and is presently the first team’s right back.
Bacary Sagna was recruited into Arsenal in the 2007 season and he replaced Emmanuel Eboue as the first choice right back player.
Bacary Sagna may not be one of the best right backs in Arsenal’s history but when considering the best attacking fullback then Sagna comes on the top. He was a vital part of the team and a competent player.
Sagna was also voted to be one of the best right backs in the English Premier League in his debut season for the Gunners. Though the player has not been able to bring back that star studded form in the last few seasons and has still not won a single trophy
for Arsenal, still he is a crucial player in the Gunners current team.
One thing that this player has always been celebrated for is that he has always put the team before himself and this was showcased when he played a match shortly after the death of his brother.

Central Midfielder: Patrick Viera – Captain
The Central Midfielder Patrick Viera is loved by most fans and is considered to be a Legend from Arsenal. His inspirational performances always made the fans love him and he never seemed to stop amazing the crowds with his skills.
He was a tackling midfielder and a very influential player for Arsenal and Viera himself realized his talents while playing for Arsenal under the orders of Arsene Wenger.
Patrick Viera is still thought to be Arsenal’s best signing of all time and has a major role in Arsenal’s reputation of being one of the best teams in the world.
Viera was the captain of the invincible team that did not seem to lose a match and made a rather special bond with Gilberto Silva on the field.
