Football Special Report: The Gunners Star Team of the Last Decade (Part 4)

Winger/Striker: Robin Van Persie
Robin van Persie is considered to be the Gunners most gifted players though every star has his own perks as this player keeps getting injured. Right now he is off duty as he is injured yet again but if he can somehow overcome his injury problems then there
would be nothing left in his way to establish himself as one of the greatest players in the world.
Van Persie has the shooting abilities, the creativity, vision and the ability to create scoring chances out of nothing.
Robin Van Persies presence on the field has been known to make the team work better and he inspires the players to make more out of themselves also, this player strikes fear in the opposing teams player’s hearts.
Van Persie did have some disciplinary issues at the start of his career in Feyenoord and this was mainly because of the issued between him and the present Dutch coach and the then Feyenoord coach, Van Marwijk.
The player was signed by Arsene Wenger, when he was looking for a man to replace Denis Bergkamp, the Flying Dutchman. Robin Van Persie was initially used as a winger in the team and then in the future he was made into a striker.
Last season the player played the centre forward position after the leave of Emmanuel Adebayor. Robin Van Persie also extended his contract with the Gunners and commented on the matter by saying that he does not want to play anywhere else.
Even though clubs like Juventus, Chelsea and Manchester City were interested in the player, but still Persie decided to stay with Arsenal.
Currently he is the vice captain of the Gunners and this season he was awarded the number ten shirt that was worn by the legend Dennis Bergkamp.

Second Striker: Dennis Bergkamp
This player is regarded to be one of the best supportive strikers in the history of football. Denis Bergkamp played in holes, he created extraordinary opportunities for his strikers, scored amazing goals and he is considered to be Arsenal’s most productive
players from the last ten years.
Dennis Bergkamp is also known as the Flying Dutchman and had the skills that only players only dreamed of having. He made a rather deadly partnership with Ian Wright and then later on with Thierry Henry.
Dennis Bergkamp was one of the most loyal Gunners players in history and scored thirty seven goals in seventy nine games.
He has also been included in the English Football Hall of fame and is the first and only Dutchman to have ever been included and this happened in 2007.
According to an online poll from the Gunners official website, this player was ranked as the second best all time Arsenal player of all time.

Striker: Thierry Henry
Including Thierry Henry was a rather obvious and easy move as he is without a doubt one of the greatest players to have ever blessed his presence in the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger even worked with Henry in Monaco before the player joined Juventus and then ultimately joined the Gunners.
Thierry Henry was not a rather successful player in Juventus and Wenger smartly used this opportunity to recruit Henry among the Arsenal ranks.
Initially the player was playing the left wing position but then the French Manager moved him to the centre forward position.
Henry matured to be one of the best centre forwards that Arsenal or even the world had ever seen.
The player literally terrorized the opposing team’s players with his movement, creativity, skills and pace.
