Football Special Report: The Top Ten Dutch Footballers in the Premiership (Part 3)
Article Continued from Part 2.

Edwin van der Sar
Edwin van der Sar's name has been written down in the hall of football legends, the Dutch goalkeeper marks the record that seems almost unbeatable. Edwin, while playing for the ‘Red Devils’ set the record for the most consecutive minutes without letting
a goal through.
The thirty nine year old player has had an illustrious career that has ventured across four major clubs Fulham, Ajax, Juventus and Manchester United. It was also at Manchester United that the goalie set his record; he shockingly went one thousand three hundred
and eleven minutes without conceding a goal.
The Dutch player is six feet and five inches tall and has earned the title of being one of the tallest goal keepers in the last twenty years.
When Manchester United found this player, there was only one thing that the critics could say and that was that the ‘Red Devils’ found a “keeper” using it in both senses of the word.

Marc Overmars
Marc Overmars is known to be speedy and quick and played the role of winger when playing for ‘the Gunners.’
Overmars was brought to the Premiership and introduced to the English style of play in 1997 and was bought from Ajax for a price of five and a half million pounds.
However, the player did leave Arsenal after three years and went on to play with Barcelona for a then-record transfer fee of twenty five million pounds.
The winger is five foot and eight inches tall and is very skilled with both feet and this makes him a deadly provider from any side of the pitch and always remains the centre of attention of the opposing team’s defences.
Overmars most memorable performance in the English Premier League would be when the player scored game winning goal for Arsenal against Manchester United for the F.A. Cup final.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was known for his blazing shots and won the Golden Boot Twice.
Hasselbaink moved his way through several clubs in his career and spent the later half of it on the English side.
His most notable club efforts were at Chelsea, where he performed to become the top scorer three years out of the four that he was there.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was born in Suriname and his Dutch Nationality was never put to question. However, with such severe competition at the international level with players like Ruud van Nistelrooy and Dennis Bergkamp, it substantially decreased Hasselbaink’s
chances of playing for his national team.
All things aside, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is still ranked in line for the player with the most goals scored in the EPL.

Dennis Bergkamp
Dennis Bergkamp is the only Dutch player that has been included in the English Football Hall of fame.
While playing for the Gunners he made three hundred and eighty appearances and scored around a hundred and four goals in the process, but Bergkamp was not a player to be remembered for the best performances or for being the brightest strikers.
Dennis Bergkamp is widely accepted to be as the ‘Best foreign player to have ever played with a single English Club.’
Bregkamp’s arrival at the Emirates coincided with Arsenal rising to one of the best clubs in all of England.
He was regarded as one of the greatest second strikers in the club’s history, his passing abilities and his tactical awareness made sure that the first striker would always score.
