Football Special Report: Top 7 January Transfer Targets
The January Transfer Window is just 4 days away and in the world of football, the rumour mill is running into over drive.
Here are some of the top rumours that have appeared in the newspapers across the world:
1. Gael Kakuta
If the French press is to be believed then Marseille chairman is highly keen on signing the French U-21 international and Chelsea winger, Gael Kakuta on a six month long loan deal.
The prodigious youngster only recently signed a lengthy contract with Chelsea and is not likely to be shipped out permanently but a loan move cannot be ruled out.
2. Vincent Kompany
Manchester City’s Belgian defender Vincent Kompany is apparently on the radar of Massimiliano Allegri and AC Milan are likely to offer City a fee of around 8-12 million pounds in the upcoming transfer window to take the defender to San Siro.
It was also published in the paper that Milan are ready to offer Ronaldinho in exchange for the player.
3. Miroslav Klose
The German goal scoring machine, Miroslav Kolse, who only became the highest ever goal scorer at the World Cup finals is now being linked to a move away from Germany to Lazio in Italy.
The Bayern Munich hit man has failed to replicate his international form at club level and given his age, he could leave the Allianz Arena for as little as 3 million pounds.
4. Sergio Cannales
Just over a year ago, Sergio Cannales was one of the hottest commodities in world football when Real Madrid snapped up the teenager from Racing Santander but in the presence of Ozil, Kaka and Di Maria the attacking midfielder has so far failed to establish
himself in the first team and has only made three appearances for the Los Blancos this season. It is being reported in the Spanish media that Arsene Wenger is lining up a loan move for the midfielder.
5. Douglas Costa
The Shakhtar Donetsk’s dynamic playmaker has been in high demand since his stellar performances in the group stages of the Champions League and is on the radars of almost every big club in Europe.
The youngster was linked with a move to Manchester United a year ago but chose to move to Ukraine and just a year on, he is in the headlines again, this time being linked to a move to Old Trafford again and with Sir Alex in desperate need to bolster his
midfield, the cash may be splashed this time.
But at the same time, Arsenal, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City are also linked with the player.
6. Merek Hamsik
If reports in the Slovakian media are to be believed, the Napoli hotshot and Slovakian midfielder Merek Hamsik has been linked with a move to English Premier League with Liverpool as the front runners to secure his signature.
The 23 year old has been in inspirational form playing for Napoli alongside Ezequel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavanni and all three of them are linked with a move away from Naples.
7. Lassana Diarra
This one has been in the news forever, even last year Lassana Diarra was linked with a move to Old Trafford but with Owen Hargreaves showing no signs of improvement, Sir Alex may be force to offload the injury prone defensive midfielder.
If he decides to do so he will need defensive cover and who better than Lassana Diarra who has experience of playing in the Premier League and has a proven record with Real Madrid.
