PFA Young Player of the Year Award
In 2005, Wayne Rooney was also awarded the PFA Young Player of the Year award for his game play in the 2004-05 season.
He scored a whopping eleven goals in the English premier League for the Red Devils and won this title for the first time in his career.
A Red Card against Villarreal
In the 2005-06 season, Wayne Rooney was Red Carded for the first time and sent off the field in the match against Villarreal in September 2005 in a Champions league match.
He was sent off on the referee’s digression when he teased the ref even when he was being blamed for an unintentional foul on an opposing team’s player.
2 Goals in the 2006 Carling Cup Final
In the 2006 season, Wayne Rooney scored twice in the Carling Cup final match, he was also made the man of the match.
He netted two goals against Wigan Athletic and gave Manchester United the four to nil win and the Carling Cup title.
A Red Card against Porto
In the 2006 season, Wayne Rooney was red carded and sent off for the second time. This happened on the fourth of August 2006 when Wazza hit the Porto defender Pepe.
The foul came as he was caught clearly elbowing the defender and this occurred in an off season match in the Amsterdam Tournament.
Goalless in 10 Games, 3 Goals in 1 Game
In the start of the 2006-07 season, Wayne Rooney, scored a hat-trick in the match against the Bolton Wanderers in an Premier League match and this ended his goal drought as they player had not scored even a single goal in almost ten matches.
First Premier League Medal
In the 2006-07 season Wazza also got his first ever Premier League medal and title win when Manchester United finished the season over all the other contenders and beat their most accomplished rivals, the Blues.
A Runner-Up in The 2007 FA Cup
Wayne Rooney did not score even a single goal in the FA Cup 2007 final match which was against the Blues and they failed to stop Chelsea scoring for the win and had to do with the runner up medal for the FA Cup as they finished second.
An Injury against Reading
In the 2007-08 season, Rooney was injured in the match against Reading F.C. and this former Toffee’s star was injured with a damaged left metatarsal and had to be benched for six weeks.
Manchester United finished with a goal less draw in the opening match of the English Premier League on the twelfth August 2007.
Another Premier League Title for Rooney
In the 2007-08 season, he got his second English Premier League title win and celebrated his second medal while playing with Manchester United.
As the Red Devils finished at the top of the table in the English Premier League again.
