Edinson Cavani to stay at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003
Napoli dismissed rumors that their striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edinson-Cavani-c11955 was on his way out, possibly to an English Premier League side. Reports suggested Tottenham and Manchester United were targeting the striker, but Riccardo Bigon, the Napoli sporting director, spoke
out on the issue insisting the striker would stay with Italian club for the foreseeable future. Bigon said, “Cavani is not on the market. He is an integral part of Napoli.”
It was revealed that defending English Premier League champions http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 were also interested in signing the player, who has recently been on fire. The Uruguayan international scored a hat-trick against Juventus over the weekend, but even the club president
insisted the player was not going anywhere. He claimed there was no price on the striker and he would even reject an offer from big spending Manchester City if they made an offer.
Claudio Anellucci, the player’s agent, also spoke out on issue, claiming the player was staying put with Napoli and the rumors were created to weaken the players resolve to remain at the club. He said while speaking to a local radio channel, “Talking about
the market is ridiculous, these rumors as well as being completely baseless only serve to destabilize the young player and the environment. I want to repeat that Cavani wants to stay at Napoli and Napoli want Cavani.”
The race for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s Fernando Torres begins
Juventus, along with a host of other clubs, are expected to make a bid for Liverpool striker Fernando Torres. The Spaniard is having a troubled time at Anfield, having only found the back of the net six times in 22 appearances. With the change in the owners
and more recently in the management, with Dalglish replacing Roy Hodgson, Torres will most likely be looking for a move this January.
Looking at just the English Premier League sides, interested in acquiring the services of the underutilized striker, “rich” sides Manchester City and Chelsea are leading the race. Even though City recently signed Edin Dzeko, they are still in the market
for another striker who would serve as a backup, while defending champions Chelsea need another striking option to replace their ageing forward line up, which consists of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicolas-Anelka-c27786.
While the English sides will be offering about €30 million for the players, Juventus are reportedly ready to offer an amount of £25million along with the services of striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Amauri-c5381. If Liverpool do agree to sell the striker, the bidding war could very well
be won by Juventus, simply because what they’ve offered would be better for the club. The Brazilian striker that will come with the agreed payment could do well at Anfield as a replacement for Torres.
New Liverpool manager Dalglish was full of praise for Torres after the FA Cup fixture against Manchester United, which his side lost 1-0. Despite being unable to find the back of the net, the striker was impressive throughout the game and if anything, was
let down by his teammates. With the squad he has to play with, it comes as no surprise the striker desires a move away from Anfield.
Dalglish’s comparison of the striker to Harry Potter did not make too much sense, but desperate times call for desperate measures. He said while speaking to reporters, “Fernando Torres has got a magic wand. We have great aims to build on and it is up to
us to get him going. He wants to do it, you can see he wants to do it, and we'll get him going sooner rather than later.”
