Football Transfer Rumours: Barcelona to buy German Mesut Ozil, if the deal with Arsenal Captain Fabregas does not take place soon
We all know about the on-going incidents between Arsenal and the Spanish club Barcelona. The captain, Fabregas, of the English team, Arsenal, told the press right before the FIFA World Cup 2010, that he wanted to play for the Spanish club, Barcelona. Since that day, the Catalan giants are in the run to catch the player, who was actually a part of their youth team, when he was a kid.
However, things did not go the way anyone wanted. Cesc Fabregas kept quiet about this throughout the FIFA World Cup 2010, as he was in a squad that was filled with Barcelona players. The Spanish side consisted of 8 Barcelona players and 7 of them were in the starting line-up of the team. 7 players included, the new signing David Villa along with Pique, Puyol, Sergio Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta and Pedro. All these players helped the Spanish team win the FIFA World Cup 2010 and therefore they are, right now, the best players in the World.
Fabregas was “forced” to wear the Barcelona T-shirt even though he told the press earlier on that he was proud to be an Arsenal player; although, things were a little different when his “friends” in the Barcelona squad told the press that Fabregas wanted to come to Barcelona, for sure. The English club’s captain, however, said that he was thinking more of Spain rather than just Barcelona. The Arsenal captain has been totally confused about his status in all of this, even though his father has already urged the English club’s coach, Arsene Wenger, to “let his son go.” The former player of Arsenal and the former player of Barcelona, who is now playing for New York Red Bulls, Theirry Henry, took note of the situation and said that even though the fans want the player to stay, no one should stop any player from going back home. Henry added on by saying that Arsenal was his home and he wants to go back as well.
With confused statements, Fabregas finally said that he was happy at Arsenal and wants his current coach Arsene Wenger to decide his future. The Barcelona president is pressurizing the English club’s management day after day to catch the player but Arsenal is not “willing” to sell the player at the moment. They say that if Arsenal is not selling a player than how can Barcelona just “hijack” him.
Now, in recent news, Barcelona is eyeing the FIFA World Cup 2010’s sensation, Mesut Ozil. The German player who caught the eyes of many clubs such as Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona and even the Catalan club’s arch rivals, Real Madrid. With the transfer market opened, all these big guns are trying to get their hands on the Bundesliga player. Werder Bermen, the club where he plays, has already given a price tag to the player. They want only 15 million pounds for him and it is “easy money” for all the big teams in the world who are signing a lot of great talent. Teams such as Real Madrid can invest more than 100million pounds for players like Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo therefore, this little price for such an amazing talent is nothing and they will definitely try to get their hands on the amazing new star.
Mesut Ozil’s best performance was in the match against Ghana, during the group stages, where he was the only goal scorer of the match. The left-footed playmaker is an outstanding talent and if he is added to the Barcelona squad, it is definitely going to be good for the team.
With players like Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Ibrahimovic and David Villa in the squad, Mesut Ozil is definitely going to be a good addition; however, the 22-year old would have to struggle for a spot in the first team, just like Pedro, Ibrahimovic and Bojan.
