Football Transfer Rumours: Chelsea still heartbroken at unavailability of new players, Sneijder and Pato out of question now
Chelsea must be thinking now that their “to get list” this coming season must be as cursed as Paul the octopus predicting the fate of the losing team. They are trying to sign in a set of world class players in order to rebuild the squad for next year but so far, lady luck has abstained from showing up at the meetings.
The Blues are in desperate need of signing new players especially after they rebuked the idea of renewing the contracts of their star players; Michael Ballack, Joe Cole and Juliano Belletti.
Ballack, who happened to be the original captain of Germany injured his leg in a tackle earlier in the season against Portsmouth Kevin Prince Boateng, told that he was extremely surprised by the decision. He now is returning to his former club Bayern Leverkusen.
On the other hand, Joe Cole has a strong chance of returning back to Arsenal who have been giving out sparking interest for his availability. Juliano Belletti, on the other hand is still in the market and has failed to comment on his move.
With these players out, Chelsea will be looking to sign in some classic new players but so far whatever they have been touching is becoming dust rather than gold. The star striker of AC Milan, Alexandre Pato was one of their main targets but now he has alleged his allegiance to San Siro, claiming that he would like to stay at the club for at least the next four years.
Pato has been a strong candidate in Chelsea’s list of requirements, from the time when their manager Carlo Ancelotti made the switch from Milan to Chelsea. Now that they have won the title last season, they are planning to upgrade the team for the present season to match up with the ever growing Manchester City, the big shot Manchester United and Arsenal that is yet again trying to balance out a perfect team.
Sources from the Stamford Bridge have told that the Brazilian players will be linked players and cash deals. On another note the Barcelonan, ace striker Zlatan Ibrahimovich is also linked with Chelsea and he might have something to do with the deal.
Ancelotti, who came to Chelsea last summer, might be speculating about the 20 year old player, Pato himself has told that the he will not make a move and intends to remain with the Rossoneri, at least until his contract is over.
While talking to media Pato stated, “My sole aim is to be ready for the restart of training with AC Milan on July 20. I have a contract with AC Milan until 2014 and I have every intention of respecting it. And in 10 years, I will return to Brazil to end my career at Internacional, the club which belongs to my heart."
Pato joined Milan in 2007 after just spending a year with the A team. He was immediately bought at £18.5 million after that.
The Inter Milan’s star midfielder, Wesley Sneijder, with his shoes they progressed and won the final of the Champions Leagues, has also told that he will stay with the Italian club despite being acquired by Chelsea and Manchester United.
Inter Milan has had a treble record wins last season in which Sneijder was one of the star of the club and after the World Cup in South Africa, he certainly had proved his worth.
Sneijder said in a press conference, “I will stay. I will play next season with Inter. My heart is in Milan. With Inter I have won everything last season and I still have a lot more to win: the European Supercup, the Italian Supercup and the Cup Winners' Cup, all beautiful trophies.”
Sneijder came at Inter from Real Madrid last year and currently has a signing with the Nerazzurri that will last till the June of 2013. The 26 year old star was the pivot in making history for Inter Milan as they won Serie A title, Coppa Italia and Champions League trophies last season. Ironically, there are reports on the contrary being heard that Sneijder could actually extent his contract for a further 2 years with Inter Milan.
