Football Transfer Update: Arsene Wenger asks Barca to act more maturely and leave the Arsenal Captain, Fabregas alone
Despite opposition from all mediums, Barcelona’s persistence is now turning into turning into a 10 year ignorant child, which though has all the candy in the world but still wants the one from right across the world. Barcelona continues its quest to sign in their long lost player early this season and are adamant that they are not going to give up on him. Arsenal are now accusing the Spanish Champions of discourteous means of persuasion of signing in their captain Cecs Fabregas.
The Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has shown his concern about the strategies the Catalans are applying in order to lure in Fabregas. He has commented that these actions are distracting his players and he will be forced to do something if this childish behaviour continues. Wenger has admitted though, that technically the Spanish Giants would not have broken any rules but there are some moral boundaries and Barcelona is stepping over the line.
Wenger has even asked FIFA to look over into the matter and warn Barcelona for their lack of professionalism.  Wenger relayed to media that he is worried his players will get distracted by their activities and that will cause his team to suffer.
Barcelona have been calling up Fabregas since early May and it’s not that Fabregas has not been answering to their calls. He too has been since bugging Wenger to let him off his 4 year contract so that he can join his former club.
Fabregas left Barcelona when he was only 16 years old and signed in for Arsenal. There under the wings of Wenger, the player matured and evolved for the better and now the 23 year old player is considered among the best midfielders on the planet. He has told that the main reason he left Barca was because he was constantly being overshadowed by players like Iniesta and Xavi, who were on their growing stages of fame back then. Now that the player has established him as something all top clubs in the world want, he wants to return back home and play for his boyhood club.
Many negotiations took place before the World Cup and the tensions between Arsenal board, Fabregas and Barcelona was about to reach their critical point but the World Cup became the saviour and it was decided that a final decision will be made after the tournament. After the World Cup, the dilemma resumed; managers, players and boards of both clubs became blunter in making comments on the issue.
Nearly all Barca players have endorsed the return of Fabregas to Nou Camp. Players like Xavi have even gone on to say that, the player is playing merely on loan for the Gunners and he expects him to make a comeback anytime soon.
Iniesta commented, “We all want him to come because he will help us to go up a level, he's very complete. However, he belongs to Arsenal and the two clubs must understand each other (in order for a deal to be done.)”
Wenger has reckoned that the La Liga victors have actually lost the war to obtain their midfielder this summer and they don’t know how to react and therefore are putting on the immature retaliation. Wenger has asked Fabregas to deny any possibilities of a transfer to Barcelona publically, so that they can stop this irresponsible behaviour. Fabregas has just recently stated that he would like to play for Arsenal this season even though he respects Barcelona and might make a move later.
Fabregas has started participating in the summer training sessions. This would be the first time he will face his team after publically admitting that he would like a switch to Barcelona.
Ray Parlour, ex-Arsenal player and teammate of Fabregas has said that his teammates at the club though will not be unfazed by his actions but they will also not be concerned in doing something about it. He expressed, “He'll be all right, the Arsenal players will be fine with Cesc. They know he is the club skipper and everybody wants him to stay. One day I'm sure he will play for Barcelona but let's hope he can stick around”.
He continued, “If Arsenal have a good season and somehow win a bit of silverware, who knows? Maybe he could change his mind and stay for longer. The most important thing is to keep him this year and see what happens at the end of the season”.
