Football Transfer Update: Barcelona’s Guardiola about to sign Robinho for Zlatan Ibrahimovic
The latest news from Nou Camp is that the Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has announced that there is a strong chance of the Catalans replacing the Swedish world class striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic with Robinho.
Guardiola said that the Brazilian star has been admired by him for a long time and he is thinking that it is time to acquire his services, as it would also be a perfect opportunity if the Spanish club wants to replace their current forward, Ibra.
Long since the beginning of summer there has been rumours about Blaugrana’s Ibra making a move. He has been related to his former club too in this aspect.
The 28 year old has been linked with a move to his former club, Inter Milan, where he produced 57 goals in 88 appearances. Juventus have also been interested in signing their former player; they earlier even posted an official bid. Ibra has 23 goals in 69 caps for them.
Media reports have concluded over the summer that the Barca player is not required at the Spanish giants anymore, especially after their new star studded signings. The team was already struggling to fit him in their starting line and make him a regular later, stated that the only option they were left with might be his transfer.
However, there is evidence to prove otherwise too. For instance the player in contract and has been performing where he has got the chance. For Barcelona he has, produced 16 goals in 29 appearances and most of them came when the club really needed them.
In addition, the magical player has the quality to play on all forward positions and therefore can star at any position he pleases. This has been helping Barcelona a lot, as they test their new players on the field.

Robinho on the other hand is a player that wants to play for anyone else but Manchester City. Last season he played for Santos and delivered magnificently. He also helped them attain a title.
All summer he has been asking his Italian coach for a transfer or the chance of returning to his home country and play for them. However, Roberto Mancini, who by the way in not shorthanded on strikers, has said that he needs all the fire power he can get this season, as he attempts to capture the English Premier League title.
Robinho has also been linked with Real Madrid and approximation of 20 million pounds has been given as bid for his transfer. The 26 year old forward wants to make his transfer permanent this time but would like if at least a loan takes place.
Robinho has collaborated that he is on the brink of joining Barcelona and all agreements and contracts have been prepared and mutually agreed upon. He has stated that all has left is making a public announcement.
It is rumoured that in a few days, the public announcements will take place but that is what the associates of Robinho are claiming.
There is a similar case going on with Argentinean captain Javier Mascherano. According to Barcelona, Mascherano is also joining the club. Officials from the club have even stated that the agreement has been drawn.
Mascherano to the contrary has announced that he wants to make a move to Inter Milan, where he wants to join his former manager Rafael Benitez and enjoy a change of club.
