Football Transfer Update: Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger rumoured to join Real Madrid, Sami Khedira
The German midfielder from Real Madrid, Sami Khedira has stated that his team-mate Bastian Schweinsteiger has questioned him about his club, the Los Merengues.
Latest reports from Santiago Bernabeu have confirmed that there is interest rising within the ranks of Los Blancos about acquiring the Bayern Munich midfielder.
Officials from the club have also revealed that there might already be talks going on behind the curtains. Experts are suggesting that if the Brazilian Kaka is unable to perform then it’s highly likely that the Spanish Giants may go for the German talent.
Bastian Schweinsteiger has been amidst rumours and speculation since the start of the summers when it seemed highly likely that the player might change his allegiance to another footballing powerhouse.
However, that did not happen even though the player time and again announced he is not bound to the club hence can opt for a transfer. After the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, the price and value of the coveted midfielder increased tenfold and many
big English clubs wanted to sign him but none of them were able to lay their hands on him.
At the moment, Schweinsteiger is fumbling a contract with Bayern Munich and while he does that he is receiving offers from abroad. With Khedira now revealing that the 26-year-old player is interested in joining him at Real Madrid, it seems like Schweinsteiger
might be making his move this winter or in the coming summers.
At Real, he is already a favourite of the ‘Chosen One’, Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho. On numerous occasions, Mourinho has admitted of the talents possessed by Schweinsteiger therefore the player won’t have adjusting problems with the manager.
Talking to the media, Khedira stated, “If Mourinho talks about a player, then you can take him very seriously. Bastian has asked me about how things are at Real.”
Khedira clarified that his relationship had nothing to do with the comments Mourinho had made about Schweinsteiger. He said, “We spoke about Real before Mourinho's statements, as we have a very good, open relationship.”
Rumours from Germany have it that Schweinsteiger is being presented with a contract renewal which will see him play for Bayern Munich till 2016. Moreover, according to the new contract Schweinsteiger will earn around 10 million Euros a year.
