Football Transfer Update: Bayern Munich’s Martin Demichelis to play for Malaga
Former Bayern Munich player Martin Demichelis has revealed that he is sad for leaving the German outfit to join the La Liga club Malaga on loan.
The official announcement is yet to be declared by both clubs; however, sources have confirmed Demichelis will be playing for Malaga this season, who finished 17th in Primera Division last season.
It was anticipated and predicted by many pundits that Demichelis was all set to leave the German outfit this winter. He was out of favour for a long time and had become a mere bench warmer at the club.
Nonetheless, the 30-year-old veteran Demichelis has stated he is not happy about leaving the club. After all, he had been with the German giants since long.
Demichelis joined Munich’s first team back in 2003 and since then the centre back has had much to boast about. He has capped 237 times and scored 15 times during his career at Munich.
At the moment, the new contract for Demichelis is yet to announced. Hence, just an understanding between the clubs has been revealed. It is expected the full details will be publicized in the coming days.
On his transfer Demichelis stated, “A very successful period at Bayern Munich has come to an end with my departure. I have won many trophies here and I've played with some great players. Kahn, Pizarro, Makaay, Ze Roberto, Sagnol,
Lizarazu and several more.”
The Argentinean international continued, “It obviously makes me a bit sad to leave the club. I knew that everything was the last time for me in recent weeks. The fans in Stuttgart, Hoeness and Rummenigge in the dressing room with
the team. It's quite difficult to deal with.”
He added, “I wish I had a different farewell. Things could have been so much better. However, this is the club where it all happened for me. I'll be grateful to Bayern for the rest of my life.”
