Football Transfer Update: Cruz and Wright-Phillips to cruise out but Adebayor’s fate still uncertain at Manchester City, Mancini
News have stirred from the Blue part of Manchester hinting on the departures of strikers http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shaun-Wright-Phillips-c33277. The update has been confirmed by the manager of Manchester City, Roberto Mancini himself.
However, there is a man amidst all this who is still unable to call Eastlands his home with locker room bust-ups, teammate quarrels, and is out of favour in the eyes of manager, currently lacking in form. The player referred to is none other than Togolese
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526.
Though news is arriving on all fronts the case of Emmanuel Adebayor still remains as curious and mysterious as ever. The 26-year-old striker of Togo’s national squad is clearly not clocking enough time on field; hence it is expected he will be leaving Blues
anytime soon.
However, no matter what the pundits predict and whatever the fans hope, there are no clear news about his future with the club. Earlier it was rumoured that he will be making a move to Italian footballing giants Juventus, as they desperately need a new striker
but the matter was ultimately dissolved because of financial reasons.
Adebayor was having an impressive run with Arsenal before he came to Citizens in 2009 but after the first season in which he produced a decent performance, his feats have been overshadowed by other lustrous striker.
This should have been an indication for Adebayor to take his leave from Manchester City a long time ago but that has not been the case, at least so far. Though he has occasionally been on the substitution list or filling in players. Currently, he is a substitute
for the Italian prodigy http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937 in an operation for his knee.
Nonetheless, this does not confirm a future with Manchester City. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 earlier had declared his stance that if the player wanted to leave for another club he would not be bringing any obstacles.
Conversely Adebayor is still present at Manchester City with an injury prone and unmotivated squad. In the case of Santa Cruz and Wright-Phillips, Mancini commented after a chat with the players that it was in their own interest to transfer themselves into
a club where there was less competition.
There are numerous clubs who have presented offers for the Togolese tactical forward; however the lack of interest from Mancini on the issue is disturbing for both Adebayor and his fans. It has even been reported that the manager’s approach is frustrating
the player and causing him to doubt his judgement.
On the issue the Manchester City boss commented, “A lot of teams want Emmanuel but at the moment we have to wait for Mario Balotelli.” This certainly suggests that Mancini himself has not set his mind of what to do with Adebayor.
Nonetheless, the manager tried to clarify his stance by adding, “Maybe Manu will leave but we have another 20 days, so we have time to make a decision. If we lose three or four, we might end up in a situation where we don't have enough players for the remainder
of the season.”
Presumably Mancini will be holding onto the best interest of the club on the top of his priority list; hence there is a strong chance of Adebayor sacrificing another 6 months of his career until the summer transfer window arrives.
