Football Transfer Update: EPL- Manchester City striker Robinho claims a move to Italy or Spain
The Brazilian super star has been critical of Manchester City soon after his signing and now he has reiterated that again by saying that the club is not displaying his interest in their decisions.
According to the latest media reports, the 26 year old striker has stated that he wants to play for a Spanish or Italian club he can’t return to his old club in Brazil. Last season he was playing for Santos in Brazil and delivered a magnificent performance, which eventually resulted in the club having a successful season.
During the summers, Robinho has been linked with a couple of Italian and Spanish club including Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Juventus, Barcelona and AC Milan.
Robinho has claimed that the Turkish club Fenerbache is ready to approach with an official bid for him. Robinho has relayed that he has presented interest from other clubs over and over again in front of the Manchester City board but they are continuing to take decisions that are not boding well with him.
Robinho started his official career from Santos, where he played for 111 matches and scored 46 goals. From there the player was signed by Real Madrid and had 101 caps for him in which he scored 25 times.
Manchester City bought him in 2008 and since then he has 41 appearances for them and has scored 14 goals. From there he was lent on loan to Santos and there Robinho admitted that he was quite happy to play as he was in his home country.
While talking to media Robinho stated on his recent rumours, “With all due respect to Turkish football, I'm not going to play there right now.”
On his signing of Fenerbache, the forward said, “The team (Fenerbahce) was the one who sent me an official proposal, but I've already decided that I will not (join the club)”
He mentioned that the Manchester City board knew about the offer Fenerbache were presenting, “There's a conversation going on (with Manchester City), but we can not do any good. In a week, a lot can happen. The only thing I say is that I will continue in Europe. Italy or Spain.”
Earlier in the summers and after returning from the FIFA 2010 World Cup, Robinho asked City to send him back on loan for another year. Robinho helped Santos win the Sao Paulo state championship along with the Brazilian Cup.
