Football Transfer Update: Fabregas is torn over the decision of leaving his captainship and moving to the Catalan Giants
The Spanish Champions Barcelona have seen a lot of their players leave this summer; Rafael Marquez, Dmytro Chygrynskiy, Thierry Henry and Yaya Toure. However, Pep Guardiola who is their head coach has said that maybe Barcelona won’t even have to enter the transfer market to sign new replacements to the squad.
Former Barca players have said that they have loads of young new players who are eagerly waiting to step up and are actually ready and Guardiola is actually thinking of giving them a chance to finally prove their worth.
Guardiola commented on their official website that even though they have lost Rafael Marquez and Dmytro Chygrynskiy, they still have cover in their own places and that there is a real possibility that they would bring on their own home grown players and he even went as far to say that the centre backs that he has, are enough.
He continued by saying that the transfer window closes by the end of this month and they are looking into the options of transfers to further strengthen their squad. He also emphasized on the fact that he is definitely not ruling out Cesc, that whether he is or is he not going to join us them right now. The transfer market is stalled at the moment, and right now, they can use players from their lower squads as they are at least a guarantee and back up right now and that is enough for the time being.
He continued by saying, that he actually knows some of the lower squad men really well and has good preferences on the others. He is starting to feel confident day by day that this might be the solution to his problems and if these junior players are going to play, then all he can possible do is give these youngsters a chance to prove themselves. The rest is up to them and if these players don’t respond with the right level to be given a chance, then they most probably will not move forward. Still he said that he was really happy with the level of standard that they have and has got a very good feeling about them.
Related to this matter, Fabregas has actually admitted that he is actually torn between the matters of actually joining Barcelona or not, as currently he is the Arsenal Captain. Cesc Fabregas left Camp Nou when he was only a teenager to join Gunners, all the while fearing that he may as well not be able to break the clubs talented team.
Barcelona’s interest also comes from the fact that Cesc Fabregas has developed and grown a lot with Arsenal and is believed by most as one of the world’s best mid fielders. Fabregas is only twenty three years old and he is a definite Catalan core heart but the facts still remains that the commitment that he made with Arsenal beforehand, so now he just can’t get up and leave and keep them hanging in the balance. However, as he still remains to this day a Catalan core to the heart, this should not be overlooked.
Fabregas once actually told in an interview that he is a Barcelona fan, he a socio, and so are his cousins, his uncles and his grandfather and he has felt all these colours from a very early age and is a Catalan!
However, when asked about the matter, Fabregas commented that he is the Captain of Arsenal, he’s a gunner and did definitely become a player there but the fact still remains that he matured here in Arsenal.
Fabregas was groomed under the guidance of Arsene Wenger, and has admitted that to this day he has strong bonds with his old French boss.
He actually went as far as to say that he is like a second father to him and he is the most important person to him in his life after his father. He said that he treated him very well and took him in as a son and he is like part of his family.
In addition, he said in the end that he doesn’t want him to leave and the last conversation he had with him, was a very difficult one which left him very upset.
