Rumours are rife regarding Andrea Barzagli as news erupts of the former Palermo player returning to Serie A. Speculation has arisen thoughts that many Italian clubs do need a quality centre back so the defender might be called back as early as this January.
Barzagli used to play in Palermo back in 2008 having started his career for them in 2004. Palermo happens to be the club he has spent most time, capping 142 times and also having scored 3 goals.
The Italian defender has also featured 25 times for country hence his impact on a team and crowd is immense making him just one of another reasons why a club would want to sign him.
News is afloat that the Italian footballing powerhouse Roma is in search of a veteran defender so they could sign in Barzagli. Barzagli joined http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 in 2008 and since then has appeared in 75 fixtures for them.
His agent has recently revealed that though http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 has not presented yet an offer for Barzagli but he is still in the marker.

Sources have confirmed that the 29-year-old defender has just about six months left in his contract after which a likely exit out of Bundeliga is expected. There are many reasons as to why Barzagli is opting for a move back to home.
One is to find his legendary form back home while the other is the obvious one of returning back to his homeland. As the career of players draw to an end, naturally all players to opt for a place back home where they can settle down later.

On Barzagli’s possible transfer his agent Claudio Orlandini responded, “There is a possibility that my client will leave Wolfsburg.”

He added, “All I can say is that something is happening and he would be in favour of an eventual return to Italy. Let’s see what occurs.
The agent added, "I haven’t been contacted by Roma.”
