Italian footballing giants Juventus have just announced the signing of Italian international Luca Toni. Sources have revealed that the player has signed in for a contract of 18 months with the Old Lady.
Rumours of this news started to arrive on Friday but there were no confirmations then. Now, however, there is an official statement regarding Toni that Bianconeri have acquired his services on a permanent basis from Genoa. 

Official statements by the club state, “Juventus Football Club communicates to have reached an agreement with Genoa CFC for the complete transfer of Luca Toni on a free deal.”

It continued to say, “The player has signed an economic contract that will tie him to the club until June 30, 2012.”

The 33-year-old player has made a total of 16 appearances for Roma where he had been playing on loan. However, his tenure with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 was disastrous so the player saw another change of club landing him in Genoa.
Transfers is one thing Toni has seen a lot in his career; however if a striker scores 3 goals in 16 fixtures then no team like Roma is going to remain in contract with him. Toni’s best performances have been in Bayern Munich and Fiorentina where he scored
47 goals in 67 matches and 36 goals in 60 caps.
Nonetheless, football pundits have stated that the career of Italian star is over now as the aging player has lost his touch on field. Nevertheless, Juventus are in dire need of a good veteran striker so Toni could assist them in this aspect.
