Football Transfer Update: Manchester United looking to sign Barcelona’s Brazilian defender Dani Alves
Rumours from the Blue and Red part of Manchester are suggesting that both footballing giants are gearing up to make a bid on players from the Spanish Champions Barcelona.
The money loaded clubs; Manchester City and Manchester United have shown interest in 26-year-old Spanish international Andres Iniesta and his 27-year-old Brazilian team-mate Dani Alves.
Both Catalan players were the fundamental ingredient in Barcelona’s successful campaign last season therefore; they face a Herculean task if they want to convince Blaugrana in the transfer of the players.
It is expected that they will have to succumb to every whim of Catalans just to sit on the negotiating table with them. Nonetheless, it is expected that if a bid is placed both players will be leaving at record prices.
Just last season Barcelona were helped to an impressive position in the Champions League, while they won La Liga title yet again. It was the help from all these players that helped in achieving that. With the recent five to nil demolition of Real Madrid, the only Spanish team that has the capability of producing some competition; it can be without a doubt said that Barcelona is one of the greatest footballing powerhouse on Earth.
Henceforth it will be very hard for both first team players who joined Barcelona a long time ago and have grown great loyalty with the club to leave home.
In such a situation, Manchester United will have to use more than money to convince their target Dani Alves to play for the Red Devils.
Reports have confirmed that Sir Alex Ferguson, the manager Manchester United considers Dani Alves as a good replacement for Gary Neville, who reportedly will be retiring by the end of this season.
At the moment, 20-year-old Brazilian Rafael da Silva is performing duties as a right back and it seems like Rafael still has to mature a lot.
