Football Transfer Update: Mario Balotelli refuses to comment on his future.
Italian teenage sensation, Mario Balotelli has remained quiet about his future, following heavy speculations of the striker joining Manchester City. Balotelli had openly expressed his intend to join Manchester City, but talks between the two clubs have recently stalled.
Balotelli has been hugely linked to a move to join his former coach, Roberto Mancini this summer at City but both Inter and City have failed to reach an agreement over the transfer fee for the teenager. Mario has however confessed he is sure where he wants to be but doesn’t want to disclose it. Balotelli had an impressive season with Inter Milan, where he made 40 appearances and scored 11 goals. This is an impressive start for the 19 year old, who has scored a total of 28 goals in 86 appearances for the Italian club.
While talking to a local newspaper, the Italian stated that he knows what he wants but just doesn’t want to voice his opinion. The player has always been in the middle of controversy, whether it was with his former coach, Jose Mourinho or the local police. The player came under heavy fire recently, when he was fined for firing a toy gun in public. The player blamed the journalists and news reporters for complaining to the police over the incident. The controversy just keeps on following Balotelli as his misbehaviour led Jose Mourinho to not play the striker in most fixtures. The player’s talent was shadowed by his poor discipline. Even his own fans booed him when he threw the Inter Milan jersey on the floor, in a semi final clash with Barcelona in the UEFA Champions league.
If that was not enough, Balotelli was recently photographed in an AC Milan shirt. AC Milan are fierce rivals of his current club and many of the fans were angered by such an action. The player earned his first cap for Italy’s national side, which Italy lost 1-0 to Ivory Coast. Balotelli was thus angered about the media always following him and wanted them to leave him alone.
Mario Balotelli is an impressive young striker who has the pace, technique and goal scoring ability needed to create a perfect forward. The player has the ability to play anywhere upfront, which allows him a more versatile game play. Balotelli, also known as Super Mario, was dubbed as the next Crisitano Ronaldo by Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Ferguson reportedly wanted to sign the 19 year old and wanted to groom him into the next big thing. Balotelli however, prefers a big money move to Manchester City, where he would join former coach Roberto Mancini. Balotelli is not only strong with his right foot but also is a free kick specialist. The player has some remarkable skills with the ball, which enables him to get behind the defence in time and then finish off using his near perfect right foot. The player has made some important assists for his team mates last season, which led him to be chosen above other strikers. When he plays his natural game, Super Mario is a treat to watch.
"At 20 years of age you can't be a complete man, at 20 you're starting to mature," stated the Inter Milan striker. The player added that it’s hard for him to cope up with the fame and media attention. The striker added that journalists target him in all the situations and make a mountain out of a mole hill. Balotelli confessed that it was stupid of him to shoot the toy gun, but media took notice of the incident which led to a lot of fuss being created over the issue.
The player needs to improve on the discipline front and keep on working harder to establish himself among the football greats. Balotelli would want to get his future sorted out soon and train harder to develop into a better player.
