Football Transfer Update: Mourinho- ‘It is very difficult to compete with Manchester City for a player, as they are dominant in the market place’
Jose Mourinho, the Real Madrid coach thinks that he has no chance of bagging Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City this summer.
The former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss have been linked to a list with numerous high profile names in it for transfers and to further strengthen the Madrid squad. The list includes the star striker that is every ones centre of attention these days, Emmanuel Adebayor. He was the unused substitute in the Manchester City’s last match which was a victory against Liverpool.
While talking to the media, Jose Mourinho said that Manchester is very strong financially and no one can challenge them financially and because of this power it would be almost impossible to get the prized twenty six year old from ‘The Citizens’.
The Eastland’s boss was asked if he would be able to sign the forward from Togo, he commented the same way he did when asked about Emmanuel Adebayor by saying, “I think no chance.”
He further stated that you cannot compare the elements between Manchester City and Real Madrid but you can clearly compare and see that from the economic point of view.
He went on to say that they have a good chance to win the Premier League this year, so right now Manchester City will try to keep their best players and try to buy more reinforcements that no one expects them to buy.
Also as the club just bought Emmanuel Adebayor from ‘The Gunners’ only a year ago, there is little chance that Manchester city will let him go so soon.
Didier Drogba is another star striker from Chelsea who is being linked for the move to the Premier League giants, but here again Mourinho says “No Chance”. The Madrid boss thinks that it is very un-likely that a move will be made regarding Didier Drogba.
Another player named Kolarov joined the ranks of Manchester City, for a whopping transfer price of sixteen million pounds. This was done to further strengthen the team. This has almost raised the Club’s Middle Eastern Owner’s input in the club to more than a hundred million pounds now.
Jose Mourinho was Inter Milan’s boss for their European and domestic endeavour before joining Real Madrid and even he says that Inter Milan can’t compete with Manchester City.
Mourinho continued to tell the media that it is very difficult to compete with Manchester City for a player, as they are dominant in the market place and they have the financial means to make things possible which other clubs just don’t. Frankly, Manchester City enjoys luxuries that other clubs just can’t afford and it is only Manchester City’s managers and heads that made this possible.
Manchester City is practically the only club in the high leagues that gets almost every player then they want. If Manchester City wants them added and they are in the transfer market, then they instantly get recruited.
Mourinho continued to tell the media that when he got to Real Madrid, he wanted to add Kolarov to the ranks but he could not do that, as he could not compete with Manchester City as they just bring such big numbers to the table that, he could not match them.
Jose Mourinho is sure that this year’s Barclay’s Premier League title race would be between Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City.
Mourinho added his old club Chelsea to the list and what’s interesting is that in the interview he failed to mention Liverpool in the running.
It was also said by Mourinho that it was going to be very difficult for Liverpool to shine this year, as their boss Roy Hodgson seems to be getting “Worse, worse and Worse.”
