Football Transfer Update: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicolas-Anelka-c27786 interested in moving to MLS
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 striker Nicolas Anelka is reported to be interested in moving to Major League Soccer if he decides to leave the Premier League.
The Frenchman has been at the English top flight for 10 seasons and has represented five different clubs that include, Manchester City and Arsenal.
The 31-year-old hasn’t yet been offered a contract extension at Chelsea probably because of his age hence it is very likely he will be playing for Stamford Bridge after the summers of 2012. Anelka’s brother and agent, Claude Anelka reckons that the
Frenchman might consider moving to U.S if he doesn’t get a contract extension.
If an MLS move finalizes, Anelka would join the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Juan-Pablo-c19796 Angel in the list of players who left the Premier League to play in America’s top flight football division.
Claude says that Nicolas has already expressed his desire to play in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/United-States-c3034 one day and a move to the Atlantic might be on the cards.
It would be an interesting switch for the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bahrain-c2847.
Anelka joined the Stamford Bridge side in 2008 from Bolton in the January transfer window and has so far scored 34 times in 97 games for the Blues. He has won the Premier league two times with London side and did the double with Chelsea last season.
However, the controversial player did come under fire from the French media after he refused to give up on his World Cup bonus. The French squad was promised to be given 100,000 Pounds for featuring in the mega event but the agreement was terminated
after the French team performed abysmally in the tournament and couldn’t even qualify for the round of 16 and suffered defeat at the hands of hosts, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757.
Anelka was also the chief instigator of the World Cup scandal when the whole team refused to practice before the game against South Africa when former coach, Raymond Domenech kicked Anelka out of the French squad and sent him home after his half-time
‘war of words’ with the former Galatasary man.
