Football Transfer Update: No chance of Maxi Lopez leaving club, Catania Director Pietro Lo Monaco
The director of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Calcio-Catania-c38719, Pietro Lo Monaco, has declared that the Italian outfit will not be selling their crown jewel Maxi Lopez.
Rumours are rife of Gli Elefantim’s star Lopez to be on his way out from the club after his stunning performances this season. Last season Catania finished 13th in Serie A and though they are 12th in the League
at the moment their performance especially because of Lopez have been astounding.
This season Serie A has been extremely intense mainly due to the maturing of other Italian teams. This is the main reason why other clubs want to bid for players that are performing above average in the League. This would not only
give them the advantage of signing in form players but also deteriorating the progress of competing clubs by signing their prized possessions.
Pietro Lo Monaco however revealed that there is no chance of Lopez leaving the club whether it is the transfer window of this winter or the coming summer.
Speculation is rife that Lopez might be on the verge of making a move to the Italian giants Juventus. Nonetheless Monaco denied any such involvement.
On the issue Monaco expressed, “Maxi Lopez will not be sold in June. Luckily, there is no more talk about this subject in the media, but if a good offer arrives, we may consider selling him to a big squad.”
Nevertheless Lo Monaco informed that Rossazzurri indeed had a couple of extra players in the team and they might be selling them out this winter.
He added on the topic, “We are inclined to let some players go. We have a squad of 29 players, and whoever has played less, we are trying to find a new home for. As for players coming in, we will only sign the people we need.”
