Football Transfer Update: Roy Hodgson looking to bring Carlton Cole to Anfield
Liverpool’s manager Roy Hodgson has reported his concern about Liverpool’s gunning power in the past but now the offensive power of the Merseyside seems to be fading therefore immediate action is needed.
The reason behind it is that the Reds only have a real world class striker at the moment; Fernando Torres and the Spanish World Cup winner can only seem to score goals when he is playing at Anfield.
The manager has tried using the likes of David N’Gog in the past but the French striker has often proven that he still has a lot to do before he can be considered for Liverpool’s first line up. As a result of all the commotion up front, the manager has been
looking around to possibly bring in a player or two, who can help reinforce the teams attack. Hodgson however seems to have his sights set on one specific player and that player just happens to be West Ham’s want away striker, Carlton Cole. Cole, just like
Liverpool has managed to fall from grace this season. However, the player has gone ahead and proved his poor form to the fact that Avram Grant just can’t control the team.
Grant, who happens to be the manager of West Ham, has often tried retaliating to Cole’s comments in the past. However, the fact that the team are last in the league, often leave’s the experts siding with Cole. The player has told Grant that he wishes to
leave the team, because he can’t be on the same terms with the manager so thar his personal career can get back on track.
Hodgson has been eying the situation at West Ham rather closely; for the last couple of weeks and seems to be finally ready to swoop in and offer Cole a lifeline. The manager has often talked about how a player like Cole could prove to be the ideal player
to help boost the Liverpool attack and it seems like the manager might just get what he had hoped for. Cole, who is looking to bounce at the first opportunity that presents itself to him, is going to cost Liverpool around fifteen million pounds, according
to the experts and that fee happens to be right in Liverpool’s range. If the word on the footballing Street is anything to go buy, then we can all expect Cole to be wearing a red Liverpool jersey at the turn of this year.
