Football Transfer Update: Tottenham Hotpsurs make a surprise bid for Phil Neville
Tottenham Hotspurs are delighted to have David Beckham at their practise even if his participation in the club’s campaign remains questionable, and are in for a surprise move for Phil Neville.
There was great disappointment in London when the English legend http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432 was unable to make a return in English Premier League. While leaving home, Beckham went on to say that he would not join EPL if he had to play with some other group than Manchester
United.
However under current circumstances, after FIFA 2010 World Cup when, a heart break injury ruled him out, the star is looking to be back in service for Three Lions for Euro 2012.
To do that he has to impress Italian head of Football Association and the manager of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello. Although LA Galaxy disallowed him to play for Spurs as rumoured insurance issues came up, he still will be training at White Hart Lane
until the end of February when Major League Soccer restarts.
Hence, Harry Redknapp is all ready to make London more welcoming for Beckham so that the legend can help and assist his players. Redknapp is even set to sign in the former teammate of Beckham, Phil Neville.
Sources have revealed that Spurs are willing to sign in the Everton player to England. It is said that they are offering 1.5 million Pounds for one and a half year contract.
The news comes as quite a surprise since the manager of Toffees David Scott Moyes has always praised his star defender and skipper. So he will be reluctant to part from the 33-year-old player. Everton already needs an icon to rally behind at Goodison Park;
hence there might be hindrance form the Blues.
Nonetheless, Redknapp has refrained from answering direct questions on Neville. While discussing the matter he stated, “http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Neville-c29904 is a fantastic professional, he is a real leader, a great player, but I'm sure David Moyes knows just how important he is
to his team. We played them twice recently and he was a real leader for them, so I'm sure David won't want to lose him, so it will be a difficult one.”
If the veteran Neville does arrive at White Hart Lane then Redknapp will have a much wider range to choose from. His left flank is already impressive thanks to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-Hutton-c4253 and Vedran
Corluka. Corluka has also been speculated with an away move so the Neville transfer has some ground behind it.
It has also been informed that Neville is so enthusiastic about a move to Spurs that the star is ready to take a pay cut in order to play for Spurs.
