A piece of paper is what seems to be separating David Beckham from making a return to English Premier League. It seems to be forgotten that the legendary Beckham once stated the only team he would be willing to play for, in the
English Premier League, would be his former club Manchester United.
Spurs manager, Harry Redknapp has also confirmed of communication with Beckham. The Englishman informed that Beckham was willing to join on loan. Now, all that remains is a permission slip by the current club of the English international,
LA Galaxy.
The manager reported after their victory against Fulham that he was looking to bring in reinforcements during January’s transfer window and Beckham was part of that plan.
At the moment, Beckham is mourning as he is missing the top class football of Europe. He had joined AC Milan on loan, but that has not worked for him either. In the second half of last year, lady luck seemed to have deserted him.
Just before the FIFA 2010 World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757, Beckham tore his Achilles muscle and subsequently, he was ruled out of the squad.
Now, Beckham wants to rejoin the English Premier League, but LA Galaxy are reluctant in letting their aging midfielder leave as he could sustain another injury finishing more or less of his remaining career.
Redknapp is happy as Spurs nine-match unbeaten streak continues; however, he wants to strengthen the squad further. He stated on the Beckham issue, "He just said that he would like to come and play here at Tottenham. We'd have
to get him quickly if it's going to happen as he's only available until March. I've left it to the people at the club. I've passed it on them. They're talking to whoever they have to talk to at his club. It's down to whether they'd let him come or not.”
Rumours have suggested that couple of other clubs like Bolton Wanderers, Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 and Aston Villa also want to sign in Beckham, but if the star does make a return, he will most likely arrive at White Hart Lane.
On the issue Redknapp stated, “David just said he'd like to come and play at Tottenham. He told me that.”
