Football Transfer Update: Wolves willing to sign ex-players Keane and Lescott from Spurs and City (Part 1)
Rumours are rife that Wolverhampton Wolves are attempting to sign in their ex-players Robbie Keane and Joleon Lescott. Reports have suggested that the signing might even come in the arriving January transfer window.
Irishman Robbie Keane has constantly complained about the time he is given on-field. Now however there is a chance for him to play in the English Premier League with his former team Wolves interested to give him a chance in their ranks.
Keane way back in 1997 started his career with Wolves but after two years he made a switch which saw him play for Coventry City in 1999. It was his early career with Wolves that gave the player a sudden spark in fame in the footballing world as he scored
29 goals in 87 matches.
The 30-year-old has barely seen the turf this season as his manager Harry Redknapp prefers other players on field instead of him hence the Irish international is fast growing out of favour.
This entire dilemma with the player has made him eventually realize that he is wasting his career with the South London team. It is expected that in the winter transfer window either he will submit a formal transfer request or Redknapp will himself decide
that it is time for the player to move on.
Reports have confirmed that the player and his agent are already busy looking for possible clubs that would want his services. So far their search hasn’t led to gold but has led them, far far away.
Media reports have confirmed that the ex-Liverpool player has found a team that is interested in signing him. Now what is surprising is that the team is a 2nd tier Canadian team. With Keane considering a team like it is apparent that the player
is desperately waiting for a better calling.
The player even considered calling quits and hanging up his boots at one point however teams will be in signing him but he has to show some form for that.
At White Hart Lane there is a long list of players that are way up ahead of Keane therefore the player will have to show a lot of form to prove he is worth a good club.
With the likes of Jermain Defoe, Roman Pavyluchecko and Peter Crouch; the wait with Spurs would be very long so Keane should probably keep his hunt for another club alive.
A transfer will definitely be a wise choice for the player. Another possibility for Keane is to travel back home where he is a hero for Ireland. He could join the Irish League, after all the Irish international has capped for his country 104 times and scored
45 goals.
Keane happens to have featured for some footballing powerhouse therefore the player indeed has the talent and flair to deliver. After his early footballing career with Coventry City Keane joined Inter Milan.
