Football Transfer Update: Wolves willing to sign ex-players Keane and Lescott from Spurs and City (Part 3)
Lescott will have a couple of offers to juggle with including one from Chelsea and Wolves. Lescott was originally a youngster from Wolverhampton Wolves. He started his career from Wolves, playing for them as a junior from 1999 to 2001. After that Lescott
continued his career with Wolves for a further 6 years from 2000 to 2006 therefore loyalty could be factor that could pull the player back with the Wolves.
In his senior career with the Wolves Lescott found recognition. He managed to cap in 212 matches for them and also scored 13 goals.
Most critics back then gave their verdict that Lescott was nearing a transfer as the player was too good to stay with Wolves and soon enough the Merseyside club apart from Liverpool, Everton came in to pick him up.
With start of 2006-2007 season Lescott was bought by Everton for 2 million Pounds and with the Toffees the player had a fruitful career. He stayed with them for 3 seasons of stardom in which he gained 113 appearances and netted the ball 14 times.
The 2009-2010 season was brought up with another transfer as the player was caught up by Manchester City for a rumoured amount of 24 million Pounds. However one could not have predicted that this would be a decision for the worst.
With Citizens the player has so far been able to appear in 21 fixtures and scored 2 goals. Lescott is indeed a player of great capabilities therefore his talents are being wasted in the Blue part of Manchester. He seems to have finally realized that and
is on the hunt for a new club.
It is surprising that lack of action by Lescott has only made him realize now that he should opt for a transfer. Rumour has it that he has already had an initial chat about this with his manager so the winter transfer window might hold some surprises for
him.
Chelsea has been on the run to sign in a new defender and for them Lescott would be the perfect man to hand the defensive responsibilities along with the other English international John Terry.
Chelsea is also facing a shortage of defenders presently as their first team centre back; Alex is out of action for at least 4 months. Ricardo Carvalho also left Stamford Bridge so they are in dire need of some quality defenders.
At the moment the Lescott has not clarified about his decisions and his approach to January; however it would be no surprise if the player opts for Chelsea instead of Wolves, after all they are the defending Champions of English Premier League, will present
better wages and have a higher chance of playing the Champions League.

Nevertheless, at Stamford Bridge, there is again a chance that the player could become a regular feature on the bench as the Blues have don’t lack in talent. So the offer from Wolves will win a couple of points and will be reviewed. Also chances of a Wolves
transfer will increase tenfold if the Tottenham Hotspurs’ striker Robbie Keane decides to arrive at the club.
