Football Transport Report: Holloway Comments on False Rumours
Ian Holloway the Blackpool Boss has ridiculed and denied all rumours regarding his leave from the club. He says that his relationship with Karl Oyston, the Chairman is “fantastic” and he has no plans of leaving the club.
The rumour spread like wild fire that the Blackpool’s boss was about to resign from the club just days before the start of the Barclays Premier League campaign started.
At a press conference when Holloway was unveiling his new players, he made a mockery out of himself, when asked if he was about to leave the club or not.
His words in the press conference were quote, "Before anyone asks a question, I just want to make sure you can see me - you can see me here and I'm not a cardboard cut-out, because somehow or other, I'm not supposed to be here."
He apparently flipped out and made some very un-professional statements and some statement just didn’t even make sense.
However, after that embarrassing episode for Blackpool, their boss unveiled the new players and commented on the question of leaving.
He said that he had no intention of leaving and his relationship with the chair man was “fantastic”. He continued by saying that he came to work for Oyston, and Oyston hired him and he has no intention of leaving.
Blackpool has officially confirmed the capture of a number of players from different high league clubs. These include Ludovic Sylvestre from Mlada Boleslav, Elliot Grandin from CSKA Sofia, Malaury Martin from Monaco and Cathcart from Manchester United.
The Tangeries are struggling to boost their ranks ever since they got promoted to play with the “big timers”.
Holloway commented on the matter by saying that fans have been mailing him and asking him repeatedly if he is going to sign new players.
Holloway said that he had been struggling to find new players and was trying very hard, and the more he tried the luckier he got with bagging new players.
However, Holloway seemed a bit demoralized at the press conference and then commented on the fact that everyone needs to be together right now and stand united.
The fact that people would think that he would leave the club hurts him, at least the fans know how long he has worked in football.  How hard he has worked for the club and for them to believe that he will just walk out is hurtful and sad.
He went on to say that why he would even want to quit a club where the fans, the chairman and the team all love him.
The manager said that with time, these things will die down and the fans would see that all their concerns were irrational and the team would still be going on better than ever.
Chairman Oyston commented on this matter in an interview and opened up by saying that he normally does not deal with rumours because if he did, then he would not have time to do anything else.
Oyston told the media that all of this talk going on about the Coach resigning from Blackpool is complete non-sense and he is not going anywhere.
The rumours do not even make any sense as the coach was travelling and was not even at the club when the rumour first surfaced so it was just stupid to buy into it.
He ended the interview by saying that it is very important for Holloway and him to stick together right now and not panic.
