Football Update: Alex McLeish to go for Quality rather than Quantity
Birmingham City manager, Alex McLeish has claimed he will look for quality rather than quantity and will bring maximum of two players in the coming transfer window to help steer Birmingham away from the relegation zone. 
The Birmingham manager has held talks with Peter Pannu, who is club owner’s right-hand man, regarding his strategy for the January transfer window.
Despite boasting an amazing record against top four clubs of Barclays Premier League, which includes a win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and a recent draw with Manchester United, Alex McLeish’s men are just one place above the relegation zone, that too on goal difference.
The Birmingham boss would not reveal whether he is satisfied or not with the budget at his disposal. But, an attacker is priority for the former Scotland boss. Moreover, Alex McLeish insists if he addresses his striking options then it may bring Birmingham
City back on track in Barclays Premier League.

McLeish said: “I can’t give you names or comment on individuals but we certainly have players on the radar. We have targets that we want to bring in to enhance our chances of climbing up the table. We are talking about maybe a couple of players, probably
two at most."

Despite being in the semi-finals of Carlings Cup, Alex McLeish claims that he will concentrate more on the Barclays Premier League and would look to avoid the relegation zone.

Birmingham will host Arsenal today and will look to produce another impressive result against the Gunners.  
Birmingham have managed to score 19 league points out of 18 league matches.  Moreover, at St. Andrews Stadium, the Blues have managed to get three wins, 5 draws and were defeated only once. However, their away record is just the opposite of the home, as
the Blues have failed to claim even a single victory on road.
