Football Update: Another training ground bust up at Manchester City
Manchester City defender Kolo Toure and striker Emmanuel Adebayor were involved in a training ground bust up on 5th January 2011. The duo was seen fighting on the ground ahead of the big clash against Arsenal. Apparently, both players had a disagreement
and could not control their temper.
This is the 2nd training ground brawl at City this season. Last month Mario Balotelli and Jerome Boateng were involved in a fist fight and had to be separated.
Manager Roberto Mancini is finding it hard to keep his multimillion dollar team under control. He resolved the 1st dispute convincing his $40 million signing Balotelli to calm down who eventually made up with Boateng.
The latest turbulence has somewhat taken away the spot light away from City’s match against title rivals Arsenal.
Manchester City currently is 2nd in the English Premier League behind arch rivals Manchester United. The clash against Arsenal is vital for City’s title hopes. If they win, they will be considered genuine title contenders, however, in the case
of a defeat, City will find it hard to keep pace with the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal.
Toure and Adebayor are both former members of the Arsenal squad. It will be vital for Mancini to sort out the differences if he has any chance of defeating the mighty Arsenal at The Emirates.
The Manchester City management is now trying to build a wall around their training facility at Carrington base, as currently it is easily visible to fans and media alike.
Manchester City owners will not be pleased at the situation and Mancini has his work cut out to impress them. The owners and fans demand success after the injection of huge sums of money into the team. If Mancini is unable to handle the egos at the club
then the owners might look elsewhere.
City fans will be hoping all this will be put to bed before the Arsenal game. The match against Arsenal may yet be the toughest test for Mancini considering the recent behind the scenes incident.
