Football Update: Arsenal Manager Searches for a Center Back this Month
Arsene Wenger, who happens to be the current Arsenal manager has been searching for a center back all this month, considering the dire need his team is facing for it. He still has to find one, when the January transfer window is near to closing.
Arsenal imperatively requires the need for reinforcements in the center of defenses. With two of their four senior center back officials suffering from injuries and a jam-packed game schedule on the go, the English Premier League football club should better
find a substitute quick.
Arsenal’s manager stated last week to a press conference that he hadn’t had any luck finding a replacement center back yet. He spoke of a particular player he wanted to sign. However, now is not the time to be persnickety. With the transfer window coming
close to its finish line, the English club does not have much of the choices to settle on.
Certainly Wenger, being the manager, is trying his best to bring in defensive reinforcements before the transfer window ends in this last week of January. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thomas-Vermaelen-c35002, the Belgian football player is still recovering from his Achilles problem, having
been operated on earlier this month.
Wenger does admit that on this critical juncture, making a deal with a center back on loan might be the best possible solution. This may not sound very pleasant to the Arsenal fans, however, but there is wisdom behind his thinking.
Even if the club did sign another center back defender, Sebastien Squillaci is expected to get fit for playing in a week and Vermaelenis is expected to return to his normal fitness in a month or so. This would leave the club in an awkward situation of having
five center backs. Even in a club that spins as much as Wenger rotates Arsenal, adjusting five center backs in a team would certainly limit the playing time of individuals that is essential for their career.
A permanently signed official could most probably result in selling off one of the club’s important center backs in the coming summer.

Wenger therefore is sensibly persuasive of the fact that a temporary move is the best way out from the current predicament Arsenal is facing. He said that any acquisition would act as a cover for their much valued players - http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Laurent-Koscielny-c21742 and
Sebastien Squillaci.
“Basically," he stated, “that would be the best solution for us, because what do you do with five center backs?”
If this is what the Arsenal boss feels is necessary, then he should do it without more anticipation. Albeit there are merits to this approach, but the most essential thing for Arsenal to consider right now is finding a cover to fill up the space for the
center back position.
