Football Update: Atletico Madrid vs. Racing Santander – Match Review (Part 2)
Two minutes later, Diego Costa made his efforts count. However, even he could not find the back of the net. The Los Colchoneros had a wonderful opportunity to score as Raul Garcia’s wonder-ball found http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-Costa-c11116’s feet inside the box. Even though he took
his shot on target and found the target as well, Tono made sure he punches it clear as he made a marvellous save again to deny Madrid their chances to score goals.
Atletico Madrid were playing 4-4-2 without Diego Forlan and “almost” without Tiago. With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-de-Gea-c10463 standing guard between the two poles, their newly signed full back Felipe Luis played on the left, while Tomas Ujfalusi played on the right. Luis Amaranto
Perea and Diego Godin Leal played as centre backs.
Fran Merida played in the centre midfield along with Paulo Assuncao. Both these players switched positions as one of them used to hold while the other made a run forward to help the team in attacks. Later, however both the players used to go forward to help
the team attack as it became frustrating for the Los Colchoneros and Tono acted as a brick wall for Racing Santander.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raul-c30652 Garcia and Tiago played on their respective flanks. It was definitely an off-night for Raul Garcia who simply could not produce enough magic with the ball to help his team win the game. He also missed out on a wonderful opportunity that could easily
see Atletico Madrid win the game. Tiago got injured early in the first half and he had to replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Juan-Valera-c19847 who simply could not operate on the wings as the first choice Portuguese winger who was not only passing well but also had good control of the game
and dribbled well in order to keep possession of the ball in the opponents’ half.
The two strikers playing up front included the Argentinean maestro http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Kun Aguero along with Diego Da Silva Costa. Aguero was definitely having one of those days where he just fell unlucky at times. The Argentinean striker was a threat to the opposition
time and time again and he made it look very easy to dribble past not one but three Racing Santander defenders. Even though he was having an extraordinary night outside the box, from inside the box his shots were blocked by Tono time and time again. The Racing
goalkeeper definitely showed a man of the match performance as he denied the Los Colchoneros numerous goal scoring opportunities.
